Are you looking for a hitch cargo rack or a tailgate rack of some sort?
There are several thread on the hitch kind. Harbor Freight has some good ones priced well. Discount Ramps have several different kinds.

Front Runner makes one, Teraflex makes one...both are pricey. No real reviews on the Teraflex except their promo video.

I have one of the trailer hitch mount harbor freight specials. Works great, although with my 12.5" tires on the back, I cant open the gate with it installed nor fold it up without a hitch drop (I have the hitch drop mounted to my bike rack).

It's on my list as well...when our dollar recovers down the road. It would cost me over $1000 right now :puke:

I am running this in my 4 Door and I just ordered the 2 Door one for the 2 Door.

I just got the Tuffy Security enclosure, comes with tie downs for the top shelf.

I bought the rugged ridge shelf that flips up. It has served us well.

Back when i had an Xterra, one popular low-cost solution was what they called a "LOBO" rack. They'd buy a wire rack from lowes\home depot, and attached it to the tie-downs in the roof.

I bet you could use some hose clamps around the sport bar as attachment points instead.

I used aluminum tubing and copper pipe fittings to build mine as an amp rack for my stereo stuff in the Xterra for a nicer look. Sadly i don't have pictures of it here at home.

Hey Jeff, I am liking this rack. I wonder how much too it gives below it. I need to be able to get the Arb under it.

I use the Bestop 41444-01 HighRock 4X4 Universal Rack Tray. It mounts to the sport bars in my JK and hangs above my Tuffy trunk enclosure. I usually keep my back seat out and I find this gives me plenty of storage when two of us go camping. I usually slide tent, camp chair, tables in the space between the steel trunk and the Bestop Rack Tray. It's a reasonably priced option for adding storage for extended trail rides. I thought I had a pic of my JK out camping with the rack loaded but no luck finding it.

Here's the link to the tray on Amazon:

You also need to order the support brackets:
Robot Check

Total cost is under $200 and it gets the job done.

I've had this for just about a year now and have not had any issues with it on the trail.

I haven't had a backseat in my Jeep in over 2 years. I run a duster cover over the rear when I have the top off and a rack that would hold a cooler or action packer would really be nice. Haven't really found one that will work the way I want though. The Bestop one is the closest but it's not big enough.
