rear differential gear noise

When lifted off ground and rotating one wheel, is it normal to hear/feel gears meshing together?

Feel yes. Are sure the noise isn't from the brake pads sliding on the rotor?

Yes. I bent my hub and tried to get warranty to cover it. They said no so looks like new axles for me. I was just worried I caused more than hub damage to it.

The search is on for a good set of aftermarket axles. It's my understanding that the 12 axles are one piece so I can't just replace the hub??

The seal, bearing, and retainer will have to be pressed onto the new axles.

The dealer just quoted me 2 hours labor to replace both axles that I bring in. I'm going to talk to my mechanic and see what he can do.
