Rear door won't unlock

I can't get my passenger rear door to unlock on my 08 JKU. When I push the switch on my key, the other three doors do unlock. However, I can't even manually unlock the remaining door, either through the door switch, or the lock on the door itself. I'm guessing the actuator is non-functional at this point.

So needless to say I'm in a bit of a bind. Can I still remove the door to get at the lock? If I can't, would I be better off heading to the dealership for repairs? If I can do this on my own, what kind of cost can I estimate I will pay for parts?

OK, does the power window work ??

Even if it does you might take the bottom harness cover off and check the connector --

If thats OK, looks like door panel removal and parts replacement--if you can doit !!

Good luck

I can't tell you what the problem is, but the same thing was going on with my 2009 JKU. Oh, and yes, I did try pushing the lock switch up. The only way I could get it to open was to reach in from the front and manually push the lock open. I brought it to a dealer to repair because I had a "certified preowned" warranty on it. Cost me $150 deductible. This probably doesn't help.

Same on my '07 JKU but it is intermittent. Works about half the time. When it does not work it can be unlocked manually.

I wasn't able to unlock it at all. I couldn't open the door or anything.

But, I just went out and messed with it and managed to get it open several times. I guess it's working for now.
