Rear mounted lights - where to run wires?

For those who have mounted rear facing lights, did you run the wiring inside or outside/under? Trying to figure out which would be easier and a neater setup . I have a 2012 JKU.

thanks

IMO inside, the switch is there so that you can use it, and it will protect the wires from getting caught or damaged.

When I installed some LED backup lights in my rear bumper, I ran the power wires through the frame up to the engine compartment where the relays were located. I used a fish tape to run a pull line through the frame and then attached the electrical lines to the pull line. Wherever the lines were exposed, I enclosed them in wire loom.

Regards.

I ran them along the top frame and zip tied to brake line hold downs.
