Rear Seat

So I have a problem with the rear seat in my two door jk. I pull the tab to fold it flat and let it tumble, and it just folds flat. I want to take my back seat out but I can't please help.

Thanks

best thing to do is after it tumbles forward you have to grab both the skinny spring release bar and the main support bar with an under hand grip and squeeze them together. You'll see both hooks release from the front floor loops. Lift up like you're doing preacher curls in the gym. Both hooks will come straight up very easily. After that you have to just rock the seat until it's sideways and easier to maneuver out of the back.

Love that classic BAHA 1000 look!

Well the problem is that the seat won't tumble forward and I don't know how to get it out. I had it out when i cleaned out the back of the jeep, but I can't get it out sense. I wonder if it is that the jeep doesn't want to be cleaned.

You probably didn't line up the two front hooks right when you put the seat back in. there's two sets of hooks that hold the front part of the seat. If you overshoot the first set of hooks the seat will just sit there. It won't spring up, tumble or anything.

If you've overshot the loops it's going to be a mother to unhook them and line them up again. I went through that horror and--yep--pinched the HELL outta my fingers trying to line up the hooks in all the right loops.

You're going to have to push the seat up on your own to get to the rod. If you do manage to get the seat unhooked again make sure to aim that rear hook on the first set of loops first. The front hook will automatically lock up on the front set of loops and the rear hooks will fall down on the rear loops. You'll know you have it right when the rear end of the seat will have a tendency to kinda spring back up a little.

Rear seat

Hey I found out that you can turn the rear seat around on my 2005 tj and it semi latches in place. We turn ours around and sit it the back to watch races ect...out of the sun. Just thought it was kinda cool.

Wow, great minds think alike.

I was just talking to my wife about turning the back seat around so we could lounge at the drive-in theatre in style! The subwoofer will be right next to our feet.

We used to do that too in the old YJ. Turned the back seat around at drive-ins. I never latched it though they actually bolted in the YJ's. But it didn't need to be secured at the movies. I will probably do the same thing with the new JK when the weather gets better in the next couple of months.
