Question rear track bar help

Ok, so I bought a 2.5" teraflex BB that came with a rear track bar drop bracket that attached to the frame end of the track bar. That bracket didn't live through my offroad terror and now needs to be replaced. I bought Rock Krawler bomb proof rear track bar but failed to see that it requires the Rock Krawler rear track bar bracket.

Does this bracket make it "bomb proof" and reinforce the axel end of the track bar or is it completely neccesary for installtion?

That bracket is actually required to make the heim joint end of the trackbar fit. The factory trackbar bracket doesn't have a large enough opening to accommodate the size of the hiem joint.

Also it does strengthen the track bar mounting point because it's made form 1/4" steel rather than the flimsy factory mount.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I hope this helps!

Requires welding.

That answers that. I guess I'm waiting another 3-6weeks for shipping on the bracket. Man reading the details really helps every now and then

Have you considered the Teraflex bracket that bolts to the axle and also strengthens the axle mount?

Instead of waiting 3-6 weeks, make your own....cut the stock one off, duplicate it with 1/4" plate steel but make it big enough to accommodate the new trac bar..

The Rk mount requires welding whereas the TF mount does not. I don't know if its required to run the RK TB. I have a RK rear but its not installed.

A rear bracket raises roll center.

With the TF bracket you won't need the RK TB.

He's correct. For centering duties, you may not need it.
For strength and a better performing TB. Maybe.

I have a brand new RK track bar that's sitting in my garage. The axle is pretty close to center given the multiple adjustment holes.

Kjeeper you have the terra flex bracket on your jeep now? Are you planning to add the RK TB to the terra flex bracket? I saw the terra flex bracket isn't much more than the RK bracket....

Damn I'm lost on this one...

It really comes down to if you want to do the welding to install the RK bracket. If the Teraflex Bracket allows for the RK track bar then that's the way I would go.

We carry the Teraflex Bracket as well, and looking at the Install Instructions, it seems like you could have it on in about a half hour.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'll be happy to help!

The whole goal was to eliminate the drop bracket on the frame side of the track bar and recenter the rear diff after the 2.5" tera flex BB.
Can I achieve that with the stock TB and teraflex bracket?

Yep

The drop bracket will do nothing for geometry. TF Only offers the drop bracket in their BB's now.
I will check it out for you later.

Edit ... Make sure you get the bracket with multiple locations. I believe there is a 1 - 2 and 3 hole.

Don't feel lost. The TF bracket has multiple holes depending on how much lift you have. It reinforces the axle mount, helps recenter the axle, and puts the roll center back close to stock. With the TF bracket you could return the RK trackbar and use the money saved towards another mod.

Ive always used 2.5" lifts on all three of my JKs and the Teraflex or equal rear axle mounting bracket. My JKs have been pretty much offroad machines and I have never been able to destroy a stock rear track bar. If I remember correctly they are a forged steel unit.
