I managed to find a Black and Red Wrangler in my area.
I know this is a personal preference and I like both colours so I'm having a hard time deciding. I first didn't like the red but i saw one at a dealership and the colour is really growing on me and it really matches the black top and bumpers and etc. I can't decide which one I want to go with and the dealership wants to know by tomorrow. Anyone else had the same problem (not being able to decide on the color) and what did you end up doing? I don't see too many red wranglers where i am. I see mostly blacks and whites. The only time i saw a red was at the dealership today
I just saw another red wrangler outside a shop while I was on my way home. Is this a different kind of red from the 2015 stock red?
I'm getting a 2015 sport by the way
Black Jeeps show dirt a scratches so if you go offroad it will take more work to keep it looking good. I had a 92 Yj that was black with custom pinstripes from bushes.
I don't know if i will do much offroading so I don't think I will get any crazy scratches on the car. But who knows...
Black is the safe colour that everyone goes with when i doubt and that's what I'm leaning towards for now. Maybe I will wake up tomorrow and change my mind.
Red is fun! It's so hard to make a decision.
That's what the saleperson at the dealership said. He said after a year the red Jeep would start to fade. At the same time most of the posts I'm reading here and other car websites, have people complaining about how they regret getting a black car because of the scratches. I don't know if this has anything to do with the color choice but I'm from Toronto. So for 6 months I will be driving on snow and salt on the roads!
I have an Anvil which I love; however if I had to choose between Red or Black, I would go with Red. Black really shows dust and dirt and Red is a fun color.
I think the wrangler is currently offered in (regular) red and a very bright ("Skittles color") red called Firecracker Red.
Congratulations - you're getting a jeep!
Get the red, I got black and thinking about trading it in for a red (and because I want to upgrade to a Run) ...black takes a lot of work to keep looking clean
And whoever told you red fades is crazy. Its not 1974 with old shit paints. My last Jeep was also a red ZJ and the paint on that looked new when I sold it in 2009. If this dealer told that to you, hes just trying to offload a black on so he doenst have to carry it for another month.
Also, if you are worried about the physical paint, Id be more worried about the black. One wash and wax, youll have swirlies all over it. Fact
Got a black JKU, black and chrome great ? ........until the sun shines on it, never gets clean ! Also because there is little contrast between the paint and the black soft top, it looks really worn after a couple of summers.
Just ordered a Firecracker 2015 JKU 😬
I haven't sen red automotive paint oxidize (fade) since the early 80's. It did use to be a problem, but - if memory serves regarding your age you posted on another thread - this is a case where it literally has not been a problem IN YOUR LIFETIME. Hear in Denver, Wranglers are everywhere, see tons of TJs and YJs on the road. The red paint looks completely "fresh" on them, and we get as much sunshine here as anyplace in the country, and it's harder on paint, due tho the altitude.
I think Red and Black both look really good as accents on ANVIL Jeeps
I was waiting on Tank to show up at a dealer while test driving/starting to work on dealers/prices and the Anvil caught my eye, and now I have one.
Not trying to go completely off topic, but if you said the Red was growing on you get the Red!!
No offense to the majority of jeep owners that have black (it seems like its half of all jeeps), but it was the first color I crossed off my list of options. Partially why I didn't want to go with Tank, too dark. I think bright/light color jeeps seem more fun.
Ultimately, to each their own. I'd go red and murder it out!! haha
