Redrock Axle Back Dual Exhaust

Last night I installed this on my Jeep. I had been considering changing out the "big barrel" under my '13 JKUS for something that looked and sounded better. To me though, it wasn't worth the $500+ for a big name brand to do it. I found this exhaust on Extreme Terrain and asked XTRyan about it. He encouraged me to give it a try and give some feedback (I assume this is a fairly new product since there are hardly any reviews of it.)

So here it goes. I bought the black coated version.

- Total installation time took less than an hour and was relatively simple. A word of warning: be careful yanking on the factory muffler. Mine came off fairly easy but I noticed that I put a bit of a crease in my mid-pipe!
- The packaging of the exhaust was not great. Everything is just thrown loosely in the box. I noticed when I got done, that the muffler had a couple of little dents in it. They probably came from the box being turned over and the muffler landing on top of the exhaust tips or the clamps. But, hey, it's a muffler after all!
- The exhaust looks great. The coating looks to be pretty thick and durable. I wish the exhaust pipes were angled up just a tad bit more towards the bumper, but I think all this style of exhaust is like that. If it really bothered you, you could probably bend the hangers a bit. I had thought about not using the exhaust tips but since they're coated too, it keeps them from standing out too much and I was also a little worried about not getting the fumes/heat out past the bumper.
- I bent the rear edge of the heat shield above the muffler up a little bit. As it was, it could potentially cause an annoying rattle driving on a rough surface.
- And what you've all been waiting for...the thing sounds awesome! It was just what I was hoping for and doesn't make the Pentastar sound like something it isn't. It gives a nice low tone grumble when accelerating and that bit of back-pressure noise when decelerating. When accelerating up past 2500rpm, it really starts to roar a little. At 75mph this morning on the way to work, it was barely noticeable over the tires with the radio off and I didn't hear any drone.

So, all-in-all, this was a great addition for the money. My only real complaint is that they need to secure everything in the box a little better to prevent dents and damage to the coating. Hopefully the exhaust, particularly the coating, will be long-lasting but I didn't notice anything that would make me think otherwise.

Thanks to XTRyan for getting me some additional product info and a great deal on the exhaust!
