Regear - procal?

Hi, at some point I will be looking to regear my 2012 sport, manual 6sp.
My question is, will I need to adjust the speedo?...tires will remain the same size, 32"....Also is 3:73 or 4:10 a good match for this size tire?

You will need a procal because the new gears will throw off your shift points. Speedo will also be off a bit as well I would imagine.

Sorry man, gotta ask:

If you're gonna keep the same size tires, why the f*** would you drop ~ $1500 on a regear?

Just curious. I'm a gearologist by trade, and this is a new species for me, akin to finding a live Pleisosaur in Lake Winnebago. Talk to me.

Ahahaha. Damn!!! Can't believe I overlooked that in your OP. I'm a moron.

That said, I know that changing gears on past Mustangs always threw the speedo off, but not sure if that holds true for the JKs or not (I would imagine it does however). Guess I wasn't of much help in here afterall. haha

Pretty sure a different gear ratio will throw off your speedo.

I want to put a selectable diff/lock(s) in, figured while that was being done, might as well regear.

Oh and so I can tow more than a shopping cart!!

so you're saying 3:21's would be fine with installing lockers or trutracks (haven't decided which yet)?

I have asked quadratec about the ring gear bolt issue and am waiting a reply. As far as I know on our 2012s our ringgear takes 1/2 inch bolts. Most of the lockers and limited slips are 7/16 inch. So drilling the holes is needed. Quadratec is checking with their Eaton Rep to figure this out.

Lockers are for trails, for the most part. No reason to regear for them. It's ofen handy to combine regearing and locker/diff cover/axle install. But, like ESP said, you have no reason to regear if you're gonna run stock tires.
