Relocation Brackets for Mirrors?

Looking at either doing the relocation brackets, or the quick release mirrors for the jeep without doors.

Which would you recommend?

Are the relocation brackets difficult to install?

How long would it take?

Thanks

Where did you get those? They are nice. Are they easily removed for when you put the regular doors back on?

i did the relocation brakets, they werent too difficult to instal and shouldnt take you much time, only thing you might want to think about is your gunna lose half the view of your mirror on the passenger side since the mirror sits further up towards the front of the car...i've gotten used to it at this point but it was a little annoying at first, you gain the full view back for the most part when you take the doors off though.

I ordered them from Amazon.com You can also buy then from Autozone and similar auto parts stores..
These are easy to mount, I got some longer bolts instead of the existing Torx screw. These mirrors will do fine without doors..

I also have tube doors and got some motorbike mirrors installed on the tube doors (they stay on the doors after tube door removal).. as seen here..

What brand were your brackets?

I use the brackets from Die-Tech Off-road LLC. They are extremely sturdy and use the OEM mirrors. By removing the OEM mirrors from the doors first, before disconnecting the door strap, you are less likely to have the door swing too wide and the mirror dent the body.

I also have the relocation brackets, but I cannot get the mirrors our of the factory mirror bracket. Does anyone know how? I even took it to a Jeep dealership and they said they had no idea how to get it out either.

Leave the mirror and bracket attached to the Jeep. Remove the bolt from the bottom of the mirror. Take one of the bolts hold the opposite mirror to the door. This bolt is the same thread as the bolt you removed from the bottom of the mirror, just a little longer. Thread that bolt into the bottom of the mirror, all way the in, but don't tighten it. Strike the bolt with several sharp blows from a hammer. The mirror should pop right out.

Has anyone tried the Lange Quick Release II mirrors. Kinda pricey at $65. each. I was wondering if there is much vibration with these. The brackets look a little thin.

I have these Mirror Relocation Brackets by Omix-Ada and Other Jeep Parts and Jeep Accessories by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware-RH1 on my 2000 TJ. They took about 2 minutes to put on. Mount up with the original screws.

Word of warning though.. if it's a TJ you're putting them on... The difficult part is getting your mirrors out of the original housing once you get them off the doors. I had to spray mine down and beat em with a hammer to get them to break free of the housing that mounts them to your doors.
