I've heard of it but not really sure what it does.

Remote start is an option that allows you to start the vehicle without being IN the vehicle. You start it up with a click on a key fob. It's good for cooling/warming the vehicle before you get in, warming up the motor in cold climates before you have to leave, etc.

I would've gotten it if the jeep jk has a proximity remote sensor, and push start like our Cherokee/Grand Cherokee brethren. I use to leave the keys in my 2014 cherokee by accident and the jeep wouldn't lock with the key inside the vehicle. I had to call roadside assistance yesterday because I left my keys in my jk during my lunch break.

Who needs a proximity sensor? Just get a soft top! :)

(Sorry, just kidding! :flowers:)

there is a factory option as well as numerous aftermarket options.

compustar actually makes a nice kit for dodge/chrysler/jeep vehicles. 95% plug and play. works off your factory key fob by hitting lock 3 times and has the ability to upgrade to a longer range fob if you needed it.
