Removable air dam

I'm sure this has been brought up before but I can't find it i am comparing the jeep patriot and the four door wrangler. My question is how much does the mpg improve when you remove the removable air dam. Jeep website says that it helps, but it doesn't say how much! Thanks for the help in advance!!

Mileage gets worse, not better, when you remove the air dam.

By how much? I dunno, maybe half a mile per gallon depending on driving habits and whether you insert an after market replacement.

I took mine off and replaced it with a skid plate, which may have recaptured some of what was lost.

There's no comparison between the Wrangler and the Patriot by the way. Totally different. The Wrangler is like nothing else, whereas the Patriot is like everything else.
