Someone backed into the front of my 2007 and put a big dimple in the right side front bumper contact point. I figure I can push it back again if I can get the bumper off but I have a problem. How in the heck do you remove the small plastic fasteners that hold the plastic pieces on the bumper. They have a Phillips head slot on them but you can turn them till the cows come but they won't unscrew. I suspect that they can be pryed out like the fasteners that hold door panels on but I hate to try it until I am sure. So, can someone tell me how to remove these things.
Supposedly you can slip a flat head under the lip and pull up as you unscrew the fastener. I couldn't do it without strip the head of the screw. I ended up just yanking them out and buying new ones from the dealer parts department.
Somehow pry up the Phillips head screw part, then use needle nose pliers to unscrew the rest of the way while pulling. This worked on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler.
