YouTube is your friend. Lots of vids on there for your soft top or hard top removal...

Gotta 2009, black pins must be something on the newer jeeps. Hard or soft top?

My Jeep: 2008 Jeep Wrangler Soft Top Guide

Check out the other videos at the link. Our Jeep came with a DVD explaining how to take on and off both tops. Also, its in the owners manual which can also be downloaded from the above site.

Unless the pegs you speak of are different then the pegs I'm speaking of....they are there to line up the top with the tub/roll bar.... you don't remove them.

You can unscrew the black plastic cap that is there but you will still have the threaded screw sticking out of the bottom of the top. Those pegs don't extend beyond the bottom edge of the top so there really is not reason to remove them.

Uh....the two screws at the top are those on the 2012s? Mine never came with them. I just remove the 3 screws on each side on the inside and thats it...
