I've got the grill off and am installing the Mopar light bar (123220RR) and for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove these two plastic fasteners that hold the trim piece in place. They are slotted for a phillips but are so soft they are easily stripped out, when I can get a grip all they do is turn but don't come out.
Ive never done this, but on other threads that talk about taking trim off. you need to have a little up pressure on that tab/screw. They talk about using a small flat-head screwdriver pushed under the side and you slowly unscrew that fastener.
That's exactly what I ended up doing - I spent more time trying to get those two fasteners off than I did getting the whole light bar mounted.
I wish I knew the part number for those things so I could just order them online but I don't so I'll have to go to the dealer and pick up a couple of them.
Take a small metal phillips head screw and screw that one into the X of plastic screw just until tight enough, now unscrew that little sucker. Detach metal screw from plastic screw before using it to install the trim again.
