Removing rear bumper silver cap??

I removed the hideous silver cap on the front of my 11 JKU but how in the hell do you remove the one on the rear bumper?? I can't fit any tool in that small space between the bumper and the gate to get to the screws Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just pull the bumper. Pretty sure it is only 4 bolts and I bet the things weighs no more than 25lbs. Remove the trim, reinstall, drink beer.

6 bolts. There are 2 smaller ones nearer to center. 25 lbs. might be generous.

^^^ Yup, takes all of about five mins to remove. It's so light a Girl Scout could do curls with it.

^^^

Very true. Couldn't be much easier. It was 6 bolts total and took me under 10 minutes. I am going with about 10lbs. Makes you realize it was really designed for impact!

P.S. I turned around and sold them on Craigslist for $75 in 20 minutes. Could have gotten more I am sure, but I just wanted to see another Jeeper be happy!

I did this a few weeks ago. It changes the whole appearance of the ass-end of the Jeep. Looks great.

In case you are like me and prefer to see pics, here is a thread with some pics in it :

Mine is sitting in my garage on my spare 4-wheeler. I plast-dipped the front one black and put it back on 'cause I like how it looks on the front with the fog light guards I put on, etc.

But, the back one... I just want it gone. I'll throw it up on CL and see what happens.

I believe they are 16mm, but a 5/8 would probably work.

Did this a few months back - looks much better for sure. It'll do until the rear Rampage bumper goes on!

That's a legit photo I found that someone else photoshopped for some other use demonstrating the strength of a girl scout.

Thanks again guys!! The thing came off in about 3 minutes with the 6 noted bolts. And they are 16mm, thanks for that tip. And as far as weight.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - MAYBE 5lbs, it's crazy light! And thats including the 3 pounds of mud that was caked onto it!
