Removing step up bars

Okay, I'm not sure if I'm calling them the right thing as I'm coming from the pickup world and that's what they are.

Anyway, I'm thinking of taking mine off of my 08 JKU X. Neither I, nor my wife really use them when we get in so I'm debating a little removal project tomorrow. I was looking around underneath and it appears it's just a case of undoing 6 bolts per side. Is there anything else I should be aware of before proceeding? Or would I be better off just leaving them in place? Also, is there anybody buying the stock step up bars on the aftermarket?

Those things came off the 2nd day I owned my Tj. I never liked them. Owners manual I've heard says to remove since they don't provide much protection off road- like a slider would. Go for it
I like the sliders with the built in step that is level or sits up above the body for clearance.

Should just be the six bolts per side. Nothing strange you need to be aware of, it's pretty straightforward.

Mine came with some hideous chrome ones which I took off pretty quick. I'll eventually get some sliders. I do miss the protection they provide from other car doors though...

I am looking for a factory set of running boards for a 2012 JKU if you are looking to get rid of some.

If we can agree on a price to get them to you and they'll fit, they are yours. Shoot me a PM.
