Removing the A/C vent trim ring....

Does anyone know the trick in removing the silver/gray trim ring around the A/C vents in a 2011 Wrangler? I checked with the dealer and they had not removed any and didn't know themselves.

I'm sure there is a thread on here where someone removed them to paint them body colour (looked pretty awesome btw).
If I remember right they just screw off.. but you may have tried this already?

Should be just like my '08 JKUR--

Just turn the ring ╝ turn counterclockwise and "tug" out, should come right out !!

Good luck

Twist left. The ring will pop out of the housing. Then using a flat head screw, carefully remove ring from housing on the 3 or 4 clips. Paint, dry, then reassemble.

Yup, clockwise to remove counterclockwise to put on. I like the black, might have to do that. I can't stand the silver.

That's kinda funny they didn't know how. My husband figured it out within 5 minutes of me owning the Jeep.

I have never re-painted anything on the inside of a Jeep that the paint lasted. I will be trading mine for the black ones in my wife's '07.

I wouldn't mine seeing a video. Seems simple but mine don't want to turn either direction. My experience with plastic is too much force results in breakage.

The total lack of applicability of this subject, is rivaled only by the ---

Substitution of the "Skid BAR" on the 2011 JK/JKUs--

You have a $30K jeep and now we're at post #29, on painting the vent rings !

Sure glad we ain't got any real problems !!
