Removing those stupid safety stickers

I'm talking about the ones plastered on the sun visors that tell you to use your seatbelt. I've been chipping and scratching away and I can't get those stickers off. Anyone have a successful technique for me?

That is strange that they wont peel off. I have an 09 that I bought in August. I went to peel them off a couple of weeks ago and they came right off. This was is in cooler weather (70's), not the 120 degree crap of September. There wasn't even any residual goo left. Good luck.

One of the items mention in the thread linked by jrohan07 is that Jeep changed the adhesive starting in 2010. As of 2010, the stickers are effectively bonded to the visors. Pre-2010, they peel off easily.

That makes sense. Anyway, how soon before someone suggests covering the stickers with bedliner?

Wait. Plastic-dip might be a better solution for this since you can peel it off if you don't like it, want to change colors, or just to freshen it up.

My driver side visor looks horrible now because I have maybe 1/4 of it peeled off. When I get home from work today, I'm going to try using Goof-Off.

Agreed, until you make the mistake of trying to peel them off, thinking it'll be easy to do. Then they look terrible.

The decals aren't a bad idea at all, except for the one I've already tried ripping off, it's not smooth anymore, so I'm doubting the decal would look good. It would look fine on my passenger side because I haven't messed with it yet.

Like I said, I'm going to try Goof-Off when I get home from work today. I'll report how it goes.

Goof-Off? I do that too, but it doesn't help with decals

I did the same thing. I got about a third of mine off before I realized it was hopeless. And indeed, if you look at the new decal, you can see the line underneath it. HOWEVER, it's miles better than just the tore up original decal. Maybe just keep it in mind as a contingency plan if the residue remover doesn't do it for you.

I covered mine with other decals.

But I've also seen people switch the driver side and passenger side visors too. That way you only see the decals when you put the visor down.

My visors were thrown away ten years ago. They got in the way of the soft top clips and made me angry. I don't like me when I'm angry.
