I look for 3 things in every product I buy. Form, Fit and Function. This new 5" edition of AntennaX meets all 3. Fits good, looks good, and works just fine. I tested it in and around town, all good. I went out of town about 5-6 Kms, all good. I was surprised that it was metal, very sturdy, installed easily, I did use Loctite on it. You have another satisfied customer.

This is what I did, I got the longer cb antenna and added the HD spring that can be had from any truck stop. Great reception and no worries about car washes.

What's the reception like with a longer CB antenna?? I live in rural Maine - the reception is already bad enough most of the time - I need it to improve.

I purchased a 13 inch Antenna X. I love the way it looks, but I have noticed a significant drop off in reception.

I just bought the 14" from Antenna X. I am tempted to also buy the 5" for just around town and put the 14 on when going out.

I've been sporting the AntennaX 13" Offroad for about 3 months with no issues. I like the beefier utility look of it.

How does the stock antenna bracket attach to the JK? Is it threaded with a nut on the inside of the body?

How do I get to the wire and nut on the inside of the body to remove the bracket?

Thanks

It is a simple thread and nut. I had to use a small wrench in order to break the threads loose, but was then able to use my hands. The new antenna should be able to just screw in

for the mount, and not the antenna. just pop the plastic round cover off, then you will see 3 bolts holding the metal mount to the body of the jeep. I believe they are 10mm bolts, then you can get to the antenna cable that unplugs from the mount

I got a 21" version of those from quadratec. Sorry I don't have a link. Its short enough that it doesn't hit the trees anymore but taller so I don't worry about the reception. Search it out.

Got the Stubby and the 13 incher (I'll keep that in the Jeep for fast swap out if I ever need it) - Stubby seems to work great no complaints.

One thing I did notice is there is a slight back rake on the antenna due to the mount (no fault of the antenna) - anyone know if its possible to rotate the antenna mount forward a few degrees? Have no looked at it - but I am sure there is a way. Yeah its super anal I know - but it would look better if it were 100% vertical.

Has anyone compared the reception on the 13 inch and the 24 inch? I have the 13 inch, and have noticed reduced reception. I'm thinking about taking of the 13" and going with the 24".

I think that is how it comes from the factory, unless the 3 mounting holes are off center

So I have the small antenna and lost all my reception
No am hannity!!
No fm.

I bought an amplified antenna and was thinking of setting it up inside dash and leaving the shorty antenna x for purely aesthetics because it looks dam good.

Any thought ideas on this
Best way and place to set up amplified deal?

I would say glovebox or top of dash in center
