Word my brotha. Strange late night question, I wonder how many of the brothers frequent this site. I get to ask because I am one.

Feel free not to answer that one if it makes you uncomfortable.

Didn't see your question till now...but it doesn't make me uncomfortable at all. I left home when I was 16, and lived at a friend's older brother's house near the old Fulton County Stadium in Atlanta.

The old dudes in the neighborhood used to call me Caspar, cuz I was one of the few white guys in the neighborhood.

We all bleed red.

Good question, though. And impossible to tell, w/out full disclosure, which will never happen in a forum that espouses name-, gender- and race-anonymity. Lotta peeps don't even know if Barrie's a boy or a girl. I happen to know she's a he, but...

Oh, wait...

Did I say he's a she?

By the way, you can glean a lot from syntax, avatars and screen names. At least I can.

Benjamin would be an apropos name for anyone with an activist bent, for example.

Lights look good Cas! Like mentioned, I would probably kick them out to the sides a bit. Thanks for breaking curfew at the old folks home in order to post the pic though.

Well done, sir. Those are my first and middle names.

FWIW, you are hands down some of the funniest guys I've come across on the internet. I feel like I've run into the three stooges' extended family.

Thank you, but I must demur...your expertise at the deadpan has been impressive. In fact, I'd say the Kung Fu reference prior to taking delivery of your Jeep (or was it after? See, quality overwhelms) was a seminal moment in Wrangler history.

I recognize a verbal samurai when I meet one, and I salute you. Alas, there can be only one, so say your goodbyes.

How's that for a segue back.

I got a black Jeep. White Duallys would look hideous on it, IMO.

Confused about the segue part. Segue back from what?

Has anyone had problems with their Duallys. I bought mine today and just installed them and they worked for about 10 seconds then they both went off. i have checked everything. The swith will light up when i turn it on but the lights do nothing. Fuse good. Wiring harness seem to be good. Not sure if its the lights, switch or harness. It could be one of the lights if the harness connects them in a series instead of parallel.

Any ideas?

Switch two of the wires (not sure which) around and the switch light will only come on when the lights are on.

Would the Dually Spots or the D2's be better for mounting on the bumper/windshield?

Right now I have the spots on my windshield. I am going to be ordering some more but not sure which ones to go with for the bumper. Also I see the spots shine out to 395m vs. the D2's at 298m. The D2's being twice the price I could get 4 of the spots for a pair of D2's. I want at least 3 so I feel the spots would be my best bet as far as price wise.

opinions, please!

I have the standard Dually spots on windshield brackets. Like you, I have been considering adding a second set to the bumper. I am leaning towards using a pair of the standard Duallys like I have on the windshield, but get either the hybrid flood pattern, or the diffusion pattern model instead of the spot. That way I can get very bright, but short distance illumination good for going down narrow roads and trails where I am not going very fast.

I like the idea of being able to have a lot of light with a wide field of view out to a distance of about 30 yards or so. The windshield spots give you distance. The floods give you a bright foreground. I think that would be a good combination.

The way I look at it is, if you have enough lights to angle in which ever direction you want light, why not go with the spots all around? That way you have long distance lighting at any field of view. To me the headlights will provide enough light for close range.

My plan is to get the Olympic or RR light bar for the stock bumper and run three dually spots. I think that would be more than enough light! I may also fab up some kind of bumper mount to put two more duallys under the bar... I know overkill but when I hit the lights I want it to be like the sun is coming up lol. Going to get three dually spots, the light bar, and ill go from there.

Silly question....

Other than off roading after dark, what would you use those lights for?
Obviously they are too bright for use on road with headlights, even in fog conditions, yea??

I do like them, the look and the light output in such a small package, but don't know if I'd have a use for them unless they can be used as fog lights....

Thanks!
