Rim Question

I have the stock 16" wrangler wheels and tires. My boss gave me his 17 inch alloy wheels and no tires. Should I try and just sell both sets and get me new rims and tires? Sell my rims and tires and get tires for the 17's. Do nothing? I feel there is a large gap between the 16's and the fenders. Any advice would be helpful.

I went with 17's. The tires will cost more, but hey you are getting the wheels for free. I think the 17's look better than 15's, but most here will disagree with me on that.

Sell both sets of rims and your stock tires, and buy new rims/tires. You'll get the most bang for your buck with 15" wheels/tires, but that's up to you.

Good way to finance one of the more expensive mods you'll do.

Agreed! Just don't expect to get much money out of those stock 16s.

Do you think $200 is asking too much for the rims and tires... does anyone know about selling rims and tires to a used tire place?

You're better off Listing them on Craigslist or here.

I have a set of 5 Sahara 17s and looking to sell them also. Tread is about 10k left on 4 and one brand new. I'm looking at getting $600 for the set . Maybe I'm way out of line but I think this is fair.

You'll probably get closer to 300 if your lucky.. The stock tires on the sports and sahara's aren't that desireable and most people aren't looking to replace there stock rims with another set of stock rims..

I just don't want you to get your hopes up on getting that much for them.. But best of luck to you..

Just as an update I went out today and got new 33s for my jeep!! They are massive compared to my old tires. I decided to sell the tires and rims to the used car place I was using my tires. He gave me 90 for 4 of them. Didn't really want to take them home and have them sit until I could find a buyer. I know I could of gotten more but the hassle wasn't worth it to me. Thanks for all of the other advice!
