At the wheels after losses in drivetrain. Heavy 37"tires will definitely eat some power.

Because a good dyno operator can make the numbers say anything they want to.

I would rather have the clutch fail than the trans. The clutch is a relatively inexpensive fuse compared to the tranny.

The 214 is at the wheels. Your brother's ram number is at the crank.

The hemi swap was running 3.73. The only reason I know this is because he recently sold that JK for about $29k with a salvage title. Here is a before pic. Ouch.

So he was terribly undergeared for the tires, which no doubt explains the ~150 hp difference between the crank and his tires.

Oh, and, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED???

He was running 35's, but yeah, definitely underpowered.

The first thing I noticed is it almost looks like the impact was so severe that the passenger front wheel kicked far enough back to knock the steps into the back fender.

It doesn't. The Ripp system (and all superchargers I'm aware of) will replace any tuner you're using with a tuner included with the supercharger. This is necessary to reset the CPU to recognize the supercharged situation as "normal."

Forget towing 3500lbs with a jk. Too short a wheelbase even if you get enough horsepower and torque.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a shop to perform my gear swap to 4.10s? I am in the NW suburbs of Chicago (Lake Barrington - 60010). Thanks.

read all this.. about the mpg gains, does anybody take into consideration maybe people leave there jk stock and just run a ripp supercharger with a full exhaust ie headers and maybe a hushpower flow with mbrp exhaust. if you drive it normal and not be ball to wall you could see decent gain. some people claim on stock jk's with what i said in mods supercharger and full exhaust gain mpg on "HIGHWAY" of 5-7 mpg. not that bad. once you lift and big tires you see a gain but not as much on stock hieght and tire

I don't believe for a second that you can gain 5-7 mpg by installing a blower. I'm sure there are people out there claiming it, but I question their test methods and/or their integrity. You can't add a source of parasitic drag and pumping losses and get a mileage increase out of the deal. It just doesn't work.

So does that mean they are giving up on the 11 models? They don't even have those figured out yet. I can't say I would blame them; there's a much larger market for the Pentastar systems since it is in use in several platforms.

Check out attitude performance. They are in Arlington Heights. Great shop specializing in 4x4s.

I've been told that the 3.8 can't handle the boost and loses reliability quick. This coming from someone who blew a few of them.

The 3.8 engine is actually a very stout package:
4 bolt mains
Roller cam
Teflon coated flat top pistons
One piece rear main
Cross ram style intake
I think it has potential!

Sounds kewl, question !

If it has the roller cam, do you have many NON STOCK options, that'll operate with the Chrysler ECU ??

Does it have hollow steel pushrods and are there roller rockers ??

What do you think of the ridiculous intake manifold mating columns/gaskets, --I've never seen anything likeit ??

Are you saying that the rear main DOESN'T HAVE A CAP and does it still use a 360° rear wiper, behind the brg ??

Thanx for the info !!

Rear main is a conventional type bearing and cap, with a rear main seal housing that bolts up behind the cap.
No roller rockers
There are non stock cam grinds available, getting the ECM to get along with them is another challenge.

The Tentrax, awesome trailer! When I built mine, I wanted to put a tent on top, then decided against it. The size tent I wanted wouldn't quite fit.
