I got a huge break since my truck was a 'test' vehicle. It turned out that all versions of the software for the 2010 (and probably 2011) will be based on my truck. I've got the only version running as 'oem'...no black box or anything. I got the setup, installed, for $5k. That's about what the parts would cost...probably less!

I'd be a little jealous of the price, Hans ---- but the fire incident tempers that...
Merry Christmas to you, sir. We'll all be watching for updates on the day-to-day experiences you report.

My chief concern with their product, and RIPP has addressed this on other forums with me, is the need (imho) for a snorkel with this set up. That big honkin open air filter is an abomination to my eyes, considering my home environment. RIPP says you can install the snorkel and unhook it for day to day driving; only put on the connecting module when you're in slime. My problem is that there's slime almost everywhere in Georgia...

Thanks! Fortunately, the Jeep was at Ripp during the fire but there were losses...anything that wasn't on the jeep at the time: covers, diamond plate floor mats, oem shift/brake/air cond/4x4 knobs, HARD TOP and probably a bunch of stuff I'm forgetting. But yeah, I"m happy with the price and Ross at Ripp was a pleasure to work with. Neat that my jeep is the template for 2010 on too.

Unfortunately, I'm an accountant and entering my busy time of year so there won't be much driving for the next few months!

Too early to tell, but gas mileage seems to have improved by at least 3 mpg based on computer readout. Haven't driven enough to know for sure yet.

The computer lies!
When I started with the Flashpaq, my computer cheerfully stated that I was getting 5 mpg better.
I was actually getting 1/2 mpg worse though.
It's more or less sorted out its personality conflict and has become more accurate again though. Weird science.

How do I get one? Is Ripp going to start selling them as kits?

They've been selling and installing them for many years. The owner, Ross, is unbelievably knowledgeable. They used me as a test vehicle because I was in the right place at the right time. They hadn't had one installed on a 2010 6-spd yet and I offered! Turns out the 2010 required some new programming to run without a 'black-box' solution. I'm running like oem and all future units will be based on my truck. Pretty cool.

Here's the link to their site.

I'm on vacation til the 15th...haven't driven much since I got it back, but love it so far. When I get home, I'm in my busy time of year and won't really drive to much til spring, but I'll keep you posted as best I can.

Do you hear the cool little turbo whistling sound if you get on the gas?

There's an overall whistle sound, more like a turbo whine. They added something new to reclaim air and elimate some sounds. I think they called it a 'hush' accessory. You can see it in the pics I posted, in the center a black plastic 'cap' with a hose coming out of it.

Have to say it sounds pretty cool!

From what I can tell the blower is a centrifugal style which performs similar to a turbo in how it generates pressure. From my experience the a roots style blower creates less noise unless the pulley has been reduced in sized to produce more boost. My wife's MINI has a roots style blower with a reduced pulley and it's barely noticeable(noise) producing 19lbs. of boost. The CAI however can get on my nerves if the windows are down. Have fun and watch out for the local law enforcement officials !!

Finally saw my jeep on you-tube! I've got the video on disc but didn't know how to upload it. You can hear it run and see the dyno results.

You Gotta Be Happy Maaaaan !! Congraaaats to u !!!!

actually i was about to install a SC in my JK but as soon as i heard of the pentstar 3.6 engine, i said i would wait till it comes out and see how is the difference between the two engines, if there was a big difference then its better to go for the 3.6, in case there was a little to be noticed i would upgrade mine with a SC .... anyway i hope that they will lunch their new engine as soon as possible ... hopefully not later than 2012 !!

Sorry guys! I'm an accountant and this is my busy time. Haven't driven a whole hell of a lot, but all I can say is that I'm lovin' in! The jeep sounds great, runs great and is pure pleasure to drive...not that it wasn't before, but before the supercharger I was constantly thinking about how underpowered I thought she was and wished for more power and torque. That thought hasn't crossed my mind once since I got her back. Like I said, pure pleasure to drive...always seem to have a smile on my face!!!

Hi HansB thank you so much for the patience and working with us - your rig is so clean and well equipped.

We want to introduce ourselves - we manufacture the kit on Hans rig -

If you have any question regarding our supercharger system in Hans truck please feel free to ask. 200+ if the GEN2 Stage 2 kits have sold (and 400 of the GEN1 which was our previous kit)....

Click picture for video install by Ian Johnson -

Questions always welcome

I was trying to look at the dyno specs a little closer. On the 2010 6 spd at what RPM do you really see the HP start? I typically shift around or before 2500. Seems to me the benefit of this SC turns on later than that. I love the idea of this and have been tossing up pro's and con's for bit now.

The guys at Ripp can answer that kind of question a lot better than I can. I can only tell you that from take off all the way through to whatever speed you want to go, it's a hell of a lot faster and more powerful than before. I'll try to take note next time I'm out for a ride, but my recollection is that I don't shift any later than you and the power's there!

Worth every penny as far as I'm concerned.

Not sure where in PA you are, but your welcome to come take a look!

I'm 10 minutes from exit 4 off rt80. My store is actually in NJ. Might take you up on that one day. I'm interested in doing this but can think of alot of stuff to spend money on before I would do this. I been thinking about getting a 4dr also and keeping my 2dr for a wheeler and maybe doing this in the future. Keep us all posted on the topic as i'm sure many are interested.

The power is throughout the entire RPM band - we take advantage of the air even when its not boosted - we make the engine feel much larger than it really is .... without over driving the rotating assembly.
