Prototype

Here is the prototype for the 2.5 X-Factor, It was outside sitting on 37s when we arrived. Really looked mean.

Check out the badge on the hood, "RK 2.5 XF-001"

Justin told me that this was the only other 2.5 X-Factor installed. My hood badge will be RK 2.5 XF-002.

Looking great! Can't wait to see the video. What wheels and tires are you running?

The tires and wheels are Ultra Wheel crushers, which are the lightest 17x9s that we could find. The tires are Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs.

TireRack sent them to Rock Krawler for us mounted balanced and with the TPMS sensors already in.

They also have over 100 styles of wheels for the JK. If your not sure they will fit your bolt pattern, they test fit every wheel that they say will fit your truck.

Its available now. The cost is about 1900 bucks. You can call them and ask for it.

Relocation Bracket

Here is a pic of the rear track bar relocation bracket.

I stated earlier that it moves the rear axle back an inch. That's incorrect, the arms move the axle back, this bracket raises the rear roll center of the Jeep.

This is the one part of the lift kit that requires welding. You can put the lift together with a bolt, but you want to drive it straight to a shop to weld this part.

Tyler used a Die Grinder to take the powder coat off and then welded it and spray painted it. Its a nice weld.

Die Grinder for relocation bracket

This is what tyler used to take the powder coat off the relocation bracket to prep it for welding.

Its a 1/4 inch die grinder.

Here is a shot of the rear trackbar relocation bracket, with the RK spring in place and you can see the upper and lower control arm. The trackbar and the shock are not installed in this shot.

Gearing

Ive been driving this lifted JK for the past few days, and I have to say, I love it more every day. I was really concerned before hand about MPG loss and power loss but my 12's punch is still there and I havent figured out my MPG yet. It felt a little odd being higher up, and the the larger tires make the whole truck feel bigger. Now I wouldnt change a thing.

The 4.10 gears are just fine with the 34.4" Duratracs, The gearing feels almost better. I didnt like cruising at 80mph before with my tach needle out of the green zone. About 2800-2900 rpm with the stock wheels and 4.10 gears, now Im under 2500 RPM at 80 MPH and although there isnt much pick up in 6th gear now, that is what I wanted from the beginning.

The best car I owned before my jeep was a 2001 corvette. I totally had a love affair with it, and its 6th gear was not for accellerating, it was a cruising gear.

What I mean is, if you want to get good highway mileage, lower RPM in 6th gear is the way to get it. So you crank through the gears to get up to speed and then drop it in 6th to cruise at 75 or 80. Its a more comfortable vs. the way it was before with me pressing harder on gas to cruise at the speed I wanted.

I have a set of 4.88s in the garage but Im not going to change the gearing, That would put me over 3100 RPM at 80 MPH. When you have to drive 3 hours to rausch creek to wheel it, You want to be able to cruise at a higher speed.

I haven't taken it wheeling, but I will this weekend and Ill let you know how the 4.10s hold up in the rocks.

Side note- Im running the tires at 38psi and I like it better than the lower PSI (29psi) that it left rock krawler with. If you feel like your ride is squishy, make your tires a little harder with higher PSI.

Nice. Good to hear this. We're running our 37's at 45PSI with no issues.

Ride is smooth.

I was really concerned about the tire size increase thinking I'd need new gears. I had bought the 7 year warranty from chrysler and screwing with the gears was not high on my list.

If you have a 12, going to 35s is not the end of the world for on road driving. You may even like it better. Once I get in 4 low and make this thing climb ill let you know if im still happy with the 4.10s.

Great thread. I recently put in a RK 2.5 Max Travel on my 12 Black Rubi JKU. Spent last weekend at Rausch Creek for the Topless for TaTa's fundraiser. You are going to be one happy boy once you get to RC. I am also running the GoodYear Duratrac.

It climbs quite easily out of Lake Christy. Lock em up and enjoy

Im going to be in NJ where I got some film of my stock rubi climbing. Im hoping to have the two videos side by side and show the differences with the 2.5 X-Factor.

What Im really looking forward to is not feeling like my truck is going to tip over. With the factory arms, The cabin would lean over at an alarming rate even though the people outside the truck told me that there was no chance of tipping over.

These new misalignment arms should cure that. I cant wait to test it.

Looking good! Yes, there has been some talk about this lift for a while. I am glad to see it come around and into production. It will be another great option for the 2.5" lineup.

Also, this lift is not on RK's site but us or any other dealer can help you get it. We spoke to RK about it yesterday and everything is good to go!
