Rock Rails

Had these installed by the dealer. The ends are not attached to the vehicle. I am concerned that dirt, mud, etc. will get inside over time. Is there anything to help them stick to the vehicle without damage?

14011 - Bushwacker TrailArmor Rocker Panels for 07-12 Jeepģ Wrangler JK 2 Door - Quadratec

I plan to take to another guy tomorrow to let him check it out. If nothing can be done no need to spend anymore funds. Really giving up on the dealer.

I dont understand what you mean by the ends are not attached. I installed a set of these myself about two weeks ago, both ends are secured to the vehicle by three rows of 3m automotive tape. The rocker panels come with the tap already applied to the panels. If they are loose and you can pull them away from the ends of the vehicle maybe the dealer installed them wrong, maybe the did not remove the plastic off the tape? mine are secure to the vehicle.

That's kinda what I was thinking.
I wouldn't trust tape when going Over rocks or through mud pits and water.

Those are not rock rails, more like body trim. Did you really pay someone to put those plastic covers on?

Agree , they wont protect your vehicle from anything other than maybe the odd rock chip, I put them on for looks, I did not like the look of the pinch seam after I installed the rock sliders. As for going over rocks, that is why I installed the LoD rock sliders. Other than "looks" for the trail armour I do like the integrated sill covers.

I missed the part about them being plastic, now I changed my mind and donít like them. My perspective on them is that they are a complete waste of money for an off road vehicle. They will be trash the first time they make contact while wheeling.

I agree they look good in combination with your rock rails. The OP is looking at them as a stand alone.

OP is talking about the rocker panel covers (on the door sill) put there to prevent the paint from getting scratched! They install with sticky tape. He isn't talking about rock rails, I do believe!!!!

I do not plan on going rock crawler, etc. I had installed to prevent the marks from showing on the yellow when getting in and out of the vehicle. Yes, I did pay to have them installed. I know my limitations. If they were installed correctly, they would serve the purpose intended. As they are currently, it will not take long before salt, drit, etc. gets behind them.

Jeep had to go back to the dealer for the 4th time for water leak. PISSED!!! Just got it back yesterday after they had it this time for over a week. I have put almost $2,000 in mods on this jeep! I guess it's time to take major action.
