Roll cage jackets faded

The former owner of my 2008 Unlimited apparently liked driving with the top down.
A lot.
The roll bar jackets are faded to purple. Is there anything that can restore them to black? Upholstery dye?
Purple just ain't my color. Trust me.

You can paint them, heard of it done.
Or look for some take offs in the classifieds or Craigslist. Not many but do see them for sale at times.

Why bother? They will just fade when you have the top down.

Duplicolor spray vinyl and fabric dye. Works great, you'll need 2 cans for good even coverage. Not stiff or sticky when dry and it looks fantastic. Did mine this summer....

I spray 'Armor All' or 'Son of a Gun' on them and it works very well. This will keep them black and supple for about 6 months or more. I've been doing this for many years here in AZ.
