Roll over accident

Saturday morning I was going down the interstate going about 55mph in my 2007 jeep jku when suddenly black ice came out of nowhere! I ended up fishtailing until I ultimately went into the grassy median and rolled 3 or 4 times (can't remember). My hardtop popped of like a top making is very easy to get out seeing how it was on its side.

The most amazing part of this is that neither me or my passenger were harmed (except a mild concussion). Huge shoutout to the durability and safety of my jeep and seat belts.

Insurance is going to take a look at it next week to determine if it's totaled. Anyone have any advice in totals? It still runs!

Ouch! Glad no one was seriously hurt. Other than a crunched roof, missing flare and busted windshield seeing the last pic doesnt look bad-but you never know what gremlins lurk underneath.

Wow, Glad you're alright! The Jeep doesn't seem to be all that bad, all things considered.

Wow! Glad to hear you are alive and well. The Jeep looks like it held up remarkably well also. It was probably the chrome rims that caused you to lose control! lol

First glad to hear everyone is ok.

hard to tell from the pic (looks like the top of the door has damage) but I would say doors, roof windshield and fenders at least. So on an 07 I wouldn't be surprised if they totaled it

1. First and foremost, glad you are OK
2. I hope they total it.
3. I hope you have enough extra cash to buy it back while being able to get another vehicle.
4. TRAIL RIG!

BTW....what tires were you running?

I thought they total almost all rollovers... that being said, glad you're okay! I used to be a no-seatbelt rebel, but I can't justify not wearing it anymore.

Very impressed at the Wrangler rollbar holding up to that!

Out of curiosity... were your "freedom top" rear screws in?

Glad everyone's ok. The body looks surprisingly good for 3-4 rolls. I rolled mine off-road. It did one full roll and looked much worse. I didn't have frame damage because it was slow speed and they didn't total it. Being higher speed and 3-4 rolls I would say it likely has frame damage and will likely be totaled.
Good luck with it however it works out.

Now THERE is an optimist!

Glad you and your passenger are more-or-less OK! JKers seem to come out of wrecks better than most!

Best of luck to you on getting back onto the road with a Jeep soon!

Glad you are all ok. Did you had side air bags ? Looks like you had BFG AT/KO.

I guess they will total it.

The roll bars are bent. For safety liability reasons it will be totaled.

Black ice doesn't jump out of nowhere, that's why it's called black ice!

Anyways, everybody is alive, so march yourself down to the dealership and order yourself a 2014. You're going to love the upgrades. Maybe you can salvage that bumper.

I was running 33 inch bfgs. And the freedom top was bolted on using quick release bolts so it kinda flew away. No airbags deployed and and I didn't have side airbags.
The rollbar has significant damage one with both door jams. I'm having the adjuster look at it on the 7th. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Glad you are OK.

That will be totaled for sure. Now the question is do you buy it back and build a trail rig. Remember that the price they give you is negotiable for the buy back.

I can almost guarantee they will total it (my sister's first car was declared totaled because of the radiator leaking after a fender bender, some insurance adjusters are dumb) but forget them, buy it back and spend that money rebuilding it exactly how you've always wanted it!

Glad you're ok but it's embarassing to have your Jeep roll over (except off road) where the public can see it. Proper etiquette is to jump out while the adrenaline is still flowing high and flip that baby back upright. You don't want a Hummer to drive by and see you!

Very glad to hear no one was hurt as rolling can cause all kinds of crazy stuff to happen. I have always felt like the roll cages in Jeeps were very well designed and this just shows how well it can stand up to a real world beating.

Better luck with your next Jeep.

Great you are OK. My 08 JK was hit broadside by 18 Wheeler and pushed down the road about 80 yards. Wrangler often sacrifice themselves for us!

I agree with others, see what the "salvage" value is. It may be very low, then you have a rig you can mod for trails, and have way fun doing it. Even if you parted it out, you'd prob get more than salvage.

Start building that replacement! 2014's are NICE!

Glad you are OK. After seeing that and comparing to other rollovers I'm glad I'm in a Jeep also.

Insurance will probably total it.

If you can't buy the whole Jeep back, at least remove your non-factory parts (Looks like wheels/tires/bumper) to reuse some of them on your next Jeep.

^^ this. all of it... glad you're okay. if you can buy it back.. even if the frame is beyond repair - and i haven't seen one that a good shop can't fix... there are a ton of other parts and pieces you can cannibalize for your own build or sell to make a bit of money back.
