Considering a roof rack for my 2016 JK Sport S 2-door with hardtop. Something to carry light loads like some 2x4s from Home Depot, etc. Looking at Barricade and Kargo Master, but what about something simpler? Thanks - JWL

I had the same problem you're having now. Sold my truck, got the jeep, but how do I get my stuff home? I went with the Nebo Roof Rack by Teraflex. I've been able to carry sheets of plywood, 2x4's, ladder, etc. without any problem. A full sheet of plywood will not lay flat, but there is no problem tying it down for the drive home.

I have the Barricade rack. It works great! I paid $360 for it 2 years ago.
I modified the mount to allow me to bolt it to my rear bumper and not have to drill into the sheet metal or hack my Mopar Offroad rear bumper to accommodate the other mount option, that bolts it to the frame.
If you remove the three crossbars. You will have a 61" wide and 79" long tube frame that can accomodate a 350lb dynamic(driving weight limit) weight limit. You can carry full sheets of plywood, sitting flat to the rack tube frame. Or probably 14to 16 ft lumber. As long as you don't exceed the 350lb dynamic/rolling weight limit. 800lbs is the static/stationary weight limit.

Thanks to all who offered suggestions. After noodling around on the InterWeb I went to a brick and mortar store, Rack Outfitters here in Austin. They had a good choice of racks and were very knowledgeable about the products. I ended up with a Rino Rack system. It will suit my needs for hauling something too large to fit in the Jeep that does not weight too much. The kit consists of: RLT600 Quick Release Track Mount Leg Kit (set of 4); RTC16 Tracks - For Fiberglass - 63" (set of 2); and Vortex Aero (VA150B) - Black Crossbars - 59" (2 each). Price was $519 plus tax. Looks like a great system that will accomodate a wide variety of other Rino Back products. Should be an easy install. JWL
