Rotating the stock Rubicon tires

For you guys running your stock Rubi tires, what rotation mileage are you using for getting good tire life? I have heard that the stock BFG need to be rotated every 3k which seems a little early to me. Was planning on 5k but maybe for this tire its too long.

Any mud terrain needs rotated more often than at or hwy tread. So 3k is a good time!

Meh. I ran the Rubi KM's on a 1/2 ton pickup and rotated them once, they lasted 45k miles or so with even treadwear. Not saying that's ideal, but I wouldn't rotate my tires any more frequently than I changed my oil just to minimize trips to the shop.

If you're doing it yourself, go for it, if you're paying someone, I say let them go for awhile.

I do mine every 6K. No unusual wear.

Should you rotate and use the spare to get even more out of the life of the tires?

Good question, I've got 16k on mine and never gave it a thought to rotate. I assume being knobby tires these are not directional. When you rotate is it LF/RF to LR/RR or LF/RF to RR/LR?

If not using the spare in the rotation, go LF/RF to RR/LR.

Yes, I asked a freakin' dumb question. RF to RR or LF to LR would not really accomplish anything.

I've got almost 19,000 miles on my stock BFG KM on my '12 Rubi at this point. I need to do a proper measurement, but if you put a penny into the tread it is even with Abe's ear lobe or thereabouts.

I rotate my tires between 4-7k miles depending on when I remember and when it's convenient. I am about 5k or so right now and need to rotate again. I do a five tire rotation because to me that makes sense. I rotate as follows: S --> R/R --> R/F --> L/R --> L/F --> S.

No unusual wear or poor road manners noted thus far. Looking to pick up a new set of tires, soon as well. It's not hard to do yourself, but for 10 bucks I usually just pay someone else to do it.
