Rough Country 2.5'' Lift Question

Is there anything else that I should order with the 2.5" Suspension lift from Rough Country when placing my order? Also, Will I need to run a spacer on my stock sahara wheels? Not sure what size I'd like to run, but I do want a 35'' tire.

Thanks,

Nick

Yes. You need to have a 1.5" spacer if you want to run any tire on your stock wheels.

So, order:

1.5" Wheel Spacers
Exhaust Extensions*2012 Models*

Everything else is pretty much subjective. Do you need Control arms? Do you need a adjustable trackbar? Do you need a trackbar bracket?

All this is subjective and could be added at a later time.

Yes, buy a different brand of lift.

Unless it's a budget boost. Other than that too many not so good reviews for my liking. I would probably rather run pro comp or RE if pinching pennies.

Rock Krawler or Teraflex may cost more, but remember 5,000 lbs of steel hurtling down the road at 75mph. The difference in a price of cheaper lift, just isn't worth the risk.

Yup.

Drive it and see.

Blunt but true.

You should probably do a little research before you decide on tire size. You can slap 35's on your Jeep, but if you don't know the consequences you might end up being, well, pissed. And, depending on your socioeconomic status, broke.

I just installed the RC 2.5" BB Series 2 lift on Sunday. I like the Rough Country BB because it uses steel spacers instead of rubber or polyurethane. My kit had the rear track bar bracket and sway bar end links. It rides exactly as it did before the lift and gives a true 2.5" front and 2" rear lift.

I did not need an exhaust pipe or spacers as mine didn't touch even under full droop while putting in the springs.

Best part, cost me $150.

I appreciate all the honesty. I guess I should explain what I am trying to accomplish. I want a more wider, taller stance. Quite honestly, I think a 2" budget boost a set of duratrac's and a 1.5" spacer I'd be content. ( I think I'd be content with 275/70/18 tires 33'')

Coil spacers, the RC is fine. It is their actual spring lifts that have the not so good reviews. However, don't build to be content, build it to be happy.

If you wanted, say a true spring lift or a Terflex 3" lift, then save up and do it right the first time. If you are settling cause of budget, then you will probably end up buying another full kit down the road as you out grow a budget boost, now having spent money twice on suspension lift. Just my .02

Yup, no problem with RC spacers. It's the actual springs I've heard bad things about, to the extent that I'd be very leery of buying them.

Ranjr, your Jeep looks hot.

I know the RC has a bad rep, having the 2 1/2 lift on my jku for a few months now dont have a problem, Ace engineering rear bumper squatted the back 5/8 of an inch form the measurements on day one of install with stock, the front with the body armor bumper skid plate and xrc winch (another unliked brand) has settled less than 1/2 inch from day one lift install with stock bumpers. The ride is great handling is same as before, have the 2.2 shocks and rear trackbar relocater. For 1/2 the price of the others unless your going 3 or more it just doesnt seem worth it to me. Of course the Rubicon wasn't worth it to me either so you can see where I am coming from. Happy with the jeep aside from the leak thing, and far from done on the mods

Appreciate it! There are many good looking Jeeps on this site and I feel mine is slowly getting there.

A 2.5 lift is a great idea, though I'll going with the Rock Krawler. I realize it's not as cheap. 35s will give you more clearance. That is really the only reason I am considering it- so I can do some of the moderate trails in Moab and Colorado without killing the underneath. I could care less about looks. Let us know how the ride is after you have it all on for a few days.

for a spacer lift, I must say the RC 2.5" with metal spacers sounds like a good way to go.

I have the RC 2.5 spring lift on my jku. I'm getting some spring sag in the rear, but RC is working with me to get it taken care of. They have great customer service so far. If I decide to go any higher, I'm going to upgrade to either a rk or bds setup. They are more expensive, but they are more all inclusive. One thing I realized is that you will Need longer brake lines if you want to disconnect your swaybar and wheel.

I have the RC 2.5" suspension lift and love it. I have only had it for two months, but my friends have had RC's in thier trucks and Jeeps for years and no issues to speak of. People who have them rave about them...those that bash them probably have never had them. They are extremely popular here in TN (home office is not too far from Nashville). I added the dual steering stabilizer...all installed for $850. To me that's just too hard to beat! Here is my stock pic and then after with lift, wheels and tires.
