Rough Country 3.25" Suspension

Good afternoon I own a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with a manual. I can't find if I get the 3.25 set up from Rough Country with 35's if I need anything extra with this setup. This will be my daily driver and driving in the sand in Cali. No serious off-roading. Thank you for your time.

Careful. It's a discount brand, which can be okay--but keep everything in mind you know about discount brands. Check out the comparable height kits from TeraFlex, Rock Krawler, Full Traction, etc. to get a sense of what's involved with a high quality kit.

If you want 1" in about 6 months go for it

I read lots of reports of their springs sagging. Especially if adding bumpers/winch/tire carrier

I found the Skyjacker 2.5-3.5" Sport Lift Kit with Hydro Shocks. For the 2 door it's a 3.5 in lift but if I go that high do I need to change anything?

I'd do Rough Country's 2.5" budget boost. That appears to be a good deal for a reasonably good product.

Mopar 19/60 springs/budget boost and some nice shocks. Will give you the clearance and hold any weight you may add.

You want to stay under 3" if you want the $600 budget to hold.

For a budget boost. RC like MTH mentioned is popular.

The 19/60's are the highest rated factory springs offered. It really depends what you have already for spring rates. Now they might get you a little lift. Along with a BB I would only add them if weight is added.
Those can be bought through jeep for around $160 (I think)

To clear that up

if you just want a little more clearance, the budget boost is fine by itself
If you do plan on adding weight. the 19/60's will help prevent any sag.

Both together might get you over 3" so I would be careful.

I had a RC 2.5 BB on my old jeep. I had no issues with it. I probably wouldnt do their springs though, I hear bad things all over the place about em. The spacers were fine.

But first. Go out side and look at the tags on your factory springs. Last 2 numbers will verify the the rating.
19 front and 60 rears are only offered through Mopar.
You may be able to find used takeoffs in the classifieds. 17/18 front and 57/58 will do just as well if the springs you have now are low ex. 15 front/55 rear.

If you don't plan on bumpers/winch/tire carrier - weight. Disregard and just do a budget boost.

I'm only recommending the spring upgrade for weight so you won't lose height with softer springs.

I have the Rough country 3.5 for 499.00 plus front adj track bar for 149.00 it rides like stock and have had no issues on or off road. I have 315/70/17 tires. It needed no other parts

My two cents--based on absolutely no experience with the product--is that RC's negative reputation is probably mostly undeserved.

There are just too many folks running it for it to be THAT bad. And quite a few folks who have their stuff seem satisfied. I think most of the "bad reviews" people read about their stuff is due to folks reading bad reviews, and then parroting what they read. Then other folks parrot that. Etc.

However, it is a discount brand. RC lifts for example are usually 60% or so of the cost of competing "higher quality" lifts. And there's no shame in that--the market definitely has a spot for it.

Just keep in mind what that means. I would expect that like most discount products, you probably get about 80% of the quality for 60% of the price. Harbor Freight versus Home Depot. Kia versus BMW. Etc.

Is it really "worth" double to get the Dewalt drill from Home Depot versus the no-name Harbor Freight drill? How about to get that BMW over the Kia? Only you can answer that, and it depends on your needs, budget, etc.

I second this. Im running the 3.5 inch with the adjustable trac bar. Now with that being said Ive used thier stuff on other things plus they have a good warranty. If the springs do sag just call them they will send you more. Personally for me I couldnt justfy spending the 2k amount for RK or TF or one of the other so called "TOP" brands. If you really off road your jeep no box kit will do you any good and stuff will break. Get the 3.5 RC and be happy. To play both sides I do feel that the coils of the RC lift dont have as much lift as others. To give you an example a freind of mine has a RE 3.5 inch lift on 33's I have the RC 3.5 on 35's My jeep only sits A little bit higher than hers. This could be a tire difference. Who knows. Its your money and your jeep you have to make that call.

I bought a JKU with a 4" rough country lift on it. The lift has been on for about a bit over 1.5 years now and from what I can tell hasn't started to sag yet.

The lift itself isn't bad but It's rather incomplete for a 4" lift if you want to hit the trails a lot. No control arms or trackbar and utilizing a dropped pitman arm.

My biggest grips are the stuff above missing and some of the parts rusting quicker then I would have thought. The brackets for the shock on the back are completely rusted but my springs aren't rusted at all. Im still learning a lot about these but the more I take it out wheeling I find things that I wish were different.

I wouldn't recommend their 4" lift at all but some of the more complete lifts they have that aren't as tall I don't think would be bad at all.

Lots of people in my club run rough country lifts and have for years with no issue. Thats not to say there aren't better kit out there but they aren't as bad as all the hype they seem to get.

Tack bar and drop pitman arm are in your case are unrelated FYI

Track bar = center axle
Drop pitman = steering geometry/angles

You most likely did not need the DPA but if you did. Flipping the drag link and raising the track bar via axle mount is a Better option

I agree with this if you are dealing with a basic coil lift. So what if the coils sag- replace them. But you could not pay me to put a "budget friendly" RC long arm on my jeep.
Or any CA of theirs on my jeep.

Wait ..... Does RC even make a long arm sus. lol

I put the RC 3.25 on my JKU and I have no complaints. The ride quality is the good,not too stiff or bouncy. I drive my jeep mainly in the city and as a daily driver. I didn't see the point in spending a ton of money on the lift simply for daily driving. Also I haven't experienced any sagging or settling in the springs.

P.S. when you install do the passengers front first. I did the drivers first and had to take off extra parts on the front end to get the springs in and out.

thanks for all the comments my next question is if I go with say the RC 3.25 lift on my 2 door 2013 wrangler. besides the lift its self is their anything extra I need to buy for daily driving?
