Rubicon 10A 'Trail Rated' badge missing...

Here in the pansy-hippie pedestrian-hugging continent otherwise known as Europe, the Rubi 10A not only screwed over with one ugly-ass front bumper, but is also missing the 'Trail Rated' badge on both sides. Two questions:
- For those of you that did get the badge on it from the get-go, is it mounted on a bracket or other solid fixation, or just a plain sticker?
- Any ideas how I can get my hands on them? I've seen some on E-bay, but no clue if they are identical to the originals... Can a European dealer order them (through Mopar or otherwise)?

It only comes on the driver's side. It goes approximately where the antenna matches up on the other side, right on the sheet metal. It is affixed with normal trim adhesive. I took mine off on day one.

Thanks 12th. Why'd ya take it off though? Didn't like the looks?

Still looking for an answer on how to get my hands on it.

Check eBay ?
I bought a special edition black Jeep emblem for the front off eBay.

Hi David, like you my Euro Rubi was missing the Trail Rated badge.

I got mine from E-Bay, it came from Hong Kong or China, cheap but not very good quality. I had to spend some time with a Dremel to get the edges smooth. Still, it was worth it as it looks OK now.

Quadratec sells them but not sure if they ship to Europe?

If not, I'd second looking on e-bay.

I took it and the Jeep letters off the grill because I didn't want any "chrome" on the Jeep. I took the vinyl stickers off as well because I thought they were ugly. I like the clean look on it.

Yea, Europe requires those special bumpers to keep pedestrians from getting caught up in the front tire treads.

Jeep has shown off an European friendly variation of the 10A/X front bumper on a few show concepts. I don't know if Jeep will ever actually offer such for sale, but at least such offers some hope. Here is just one example:

That's odd, maybe they're not trail rated for Europe.

The reasons for which the bumper is different on EU models are quite clear. To my knowledge, however, there should be no reason to not give the EU models the 'trail rated' rating. As far as I know, there are no changes between EU and US models that impact the offroad driving capability... Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Maybe those bumpers affect the approach and departure angles? Or maybe, it's just not a selling point across the pond. Here people think that badge means all kinds of stuff. A friend bought a Liberty and told me that badge means it can do the Rubicon. She thinks the badge means her Liberty and my JK are the same, capability wise.

While at first glance, the "Trail Rated" grading system seems like a good idea, but then Jeep ruined it by altering the definition of "Trail Rated" for each vehicle. I mean, even my MINI Cooper could be "Trail Rated", all you need to do is adjust the requirements like forging streams from 30 inches of water depth to 30 millimeters of water depth. That's how all other Jeeps can "earn" the badge; they basically cheat.

I think you'll be correct that it isn't a selling point across the pond. Are the black Trail Rated badges on the regular Rubicons over there?

Good news: got my Mopar badge in the mail, and it's looking fine! Missing mounting instructions for a 2013 JK though... Anyone got those and would like to share?

1. Apply adhesive.
2. Stick on Jeep.

Lol, thanks 12th. The adhesive is already on there actually I think.
What I meant by 'instructions': a little layout with distances for correct positioning. And yes, I know it's 'opposite the radio antenna mounting'... Just wanted to avoid measuring it out if someone had an easy little plan lying around.

The EU models should have a "Tow Rated" badge... you folks get big brakes.

Such should be the same spot as the antenna base on the other fender, no?

The antenna knockout is 1 7/8" from top cowl edge and 7" from fender edge.

Close, yes. Exact, no.....

All he needs to do now is convert the measurements to millimeters because he lives in Belgium.

Many thanks m998dna, that was exactly what I was looking for. And no worries, I've got an imperial ruler handy as well. ;-)

The European bumpers are strictly for pedestrian safety, meaning when you waffle a pedestrian in Europe it only maimes instead of mutilates.

My guess is that the "Trail Rated" badge might offend the delicate sensibilities of some environmentalist/global warming nut-job of which Europe seems to be over run with. You might run over some bugs, or squash some vegetation and that would be unimaginable
