The Rubicon model is off road upgrades including a stronger Dana 44 front axle, front and rear lockers, sway bar disconnect, and a 4:1 transfer case.

Not that many rubicons arent decked out, but you can get them with manual windows/doors. The Sahara is the "luxury model".

In the standard editions, when you go above the Sport in the 2 door model you can either go comfort or performance. The performance path is the Rubicon with a Dana44 front axle, 4.10 differential ratio, electric lockers, electric swaybar disconnects and slightly taller stance. However it comes standard with unique aluminum wheels, manual windows, manual door locks, unpainted fenders and cloth seats. All the upgrades from the S are underneath

The Sahara on the other hand comes with it's unique aluminum wheels, the same axles as the Sport, but with air conditioning, electric door locks, electric windows and painted fenders.

When you go to the four door versions, both the Rubicon and Sahara have electric locks and electric windows. The Rubicon has 4.1 axle ratios and I believe leather seats, the Sahara has the same 3.21 axle ratios as the Sport and cloth seats, but does have painted fenders

So, is the Rubicon trim level above Sahara or is the Sahara trim level above the Rubicon? Depends on your point of view.

Jeep Wrangler does not have a model with everything unlike cars and pickups. The Wrangler does have three distinct sub models aimed at different markets and an extensive list of packages and options. I believe the most expensive "standard" model, ie: one with no options would be the Rubicon Recon.

Well the Rubicon trim allows you to have every option the Sahara has PLUS some massive performance improvements, so I would say the Rubicon is the highest trim level. The Sahara is basically a Rubicon without the performance upgrades, just the comfort/style upgrades.

Not sure when it started or even if it's true but on my 15 they said I couldn't delete the air.
If it doesn't improve off road performance I didn't want it period.

That works for recent vehicles. I was able to bring up the window sticker for my 2015 Sahara, but not my 2003 Rubicon. The old equipment listing would work back into the '90s, so it was good to find out what was really on a used Jeep.

I printed out the build this time, should it not stay that way.
I printed mine out as a PDF and saved them on the computer. I also printed out hard copy and put in my folder for the vehicle. (I have the original windows sticker, the purchase paperwork and all repair/maintenance invoices).

If your running Windows 10, Microsoft Print to PDF should be on your machine. If you are running Windows 7 or earlier, google PDF995. It is a two part download/install that shows up in your printer listing and creates a PDF file from any application that supports printing.

It's good to know that equipment listing is back up (for now).

I just got my Recon on Wednesday, I got the 130 radio in it. It came in that way. I'm glad because I'm an old school big radio guy and I didn't have to spend on a radio I'm pulling out.

You have a nice Jeep, the Rubicon has some additional features that make it a great off-road vehicle stock or to build upon.

The previous posts covered most of the "what is a Rubicon" topic this is the Jeep website page talking about the 2-door Rubicon's features with photos link here
