Good stuff Pat! Thanks for posting those up.

That said, I'm not a fan of that color. So far Dune and Rugged Brown are falling short for me.

I like it, a lot. Not too much bling. I bet it pops more in sunlight though.

Personally, I like it. If I had to have a dark colored Jeep I'd go with that Rugged Brown over black or dark blue. That is much more unusual. I'd also be willing to bet that this color doesn't end up selling well and will be gone sooner than later. Another one of those PITA colors to keep clean too.

I don't think I've ever seen this color yet. I have a feeling it would look much better in person/sunlight than it does in these pictures (kind of looks black in some).

That said, Dune, this one, and Commando Green are definitely my favorites.

As always, thanks for sharing Pat! Its a nice color. Could be a little lighter, but its about what I expected. A lot of earthy tones these days: commando, dune, rugged brown etc.

I'll try to take some more pics on Thursday when I am back in the office. It was slow tonight so I had some time. I'll try to get some outside in the sunlight. The sunlight does lighten the color up alot.

I'm a fan myself, it's unusual. We had alot of the GC Summits in Rugged Brown and they sold pretty fast.

No just 2 Rubicons with black top/flares.

IMHO, a Sahara with the painted flares and top would probably look pretty classy.

PantherMark would have been all over it as a mallcrawler

Rugged Brown reminds me of Mayan Bronze, which was the color of my TL SH-AWD I sold to buy my JKR10A. I like that picture, because I thought of it as foreshadowing

I dig it! Nice color. I like the trend of "different" colors. Back when I bought my 2004 Rubicon, I was very close to ordering an Inca Gold one, but played it safe with Silver.
I hardly see any Inca Golds around anymore.

I like it. I can't see it on a GC but it works for me on the Wrangler.

Good pics Pat. I don't know if I like it or not. I'm definitely a fan of GC, this may be good but it doesn't pop for me.

Mayan Bronze is one of the nicest colors I have ever seen. Simply stunning. As for the Jeep brown, it's a nice color, but IMHO, too dark, almost looks black when in the shade. Probably looks killer in the sun, but I would never get a Jeep (a vehicle prone to paint damage because of trail running) in a pearl color. They are damn near impossible to paint match.

I agree, but too dark for me to want one, I'll enjoy seeing them around once they start hitting the streets, I bet they sell well, (of course all the wranglers seem to)

Give it a "Dune" interior and it would look like a rolling peanut butter cup.

Might work for a Deputy Sheriff or Park Ranger but otherwise not too spiffy. Doubt this one will be carried over for years to come.

Thank you, I thought so too regarding Mayan Bronze. It's not like Acura gave me very many choices though... "Hmmm, let's see. It appears this car comes in five shades of invisible, oh, and brown!" That's one of the reasons I like Wranglers so much. It's nice to have an expressive color vs. what other OEMs do to their cars. Who wants a car with a color that screams, " I wish life came in a sippy-cup." Answer: lots of people.

I am no auto-body guy, but metallic flake paints must be a bitch to work on.

Very rarely have I come across a pearl car with paintwork that I couldn't tell where it was sprayed. Often, the paint still doesn't match, but since it's blended, it makes it impossible to tell where it was painted (if the shop is good.) This is the reason why you need to blend pearl paint. If I scuff my crush hood, I can just paint the hood crush and all is well. If I scuff a pearl hood, I'd need to repaint the hood, the cowl, and the fenders so that the paint doesn't stand up. Gotta think ahead.

P.S. Acura has a great history of offering that 1 or two colors that are simply stunning. Sundance gold and angean blue pearl are still some of my favorite colors ever. In the sun they are simply incredible.
