Rugged Ridge Diamond Plate Hood Guard

Anybody out there have relatively recent experience with installing this on their JK?
Rugged Ridge Hood Guard, Black 11651.17

I know its plastic and just looks like diamond plate steel. And I know it doesnt do squat to protect the windshield, it just protect the leading edge of the hood (which is all it claims to do).

But Ive read a couple of reviews that arent very complimentary of it, specifically saying that it was a PITA to install and required drilling, etc. But the item description says its installed with adhesive.....so I find myself confused.

Anybody done it, themselves and can give informed opinions either way?

Thanks all.

I have it and really like the material. The only issue I had was fittiment. It has both 3M tape and you have to bolt it up to your hood latches for added security. It fits tight, but some of the tape doesn't stick well on the sides of the hood. Even though it flares up a millimeter or so, it is even on both sides and doesn't move an inch when you drive. I think it looks great, and affords the front end some additional protection..cause we all know how that 90 degree angle front end picks up everything!

Oh...no drilling. Just a little patience and aligning it properly.

Do the front corners rub the grille?

my advice to you would be to install it when it's warm out, it makes the plastic more flexible. Also, don't get impatient with the area near the latches. The holes WILL align, and it just means you have to really push and make sure the whole protector is on straight and even. I think this is RR's failsafe to make sure people aren't putting the darn thing on crooked. Also, if you have any tips for making the angled edges really stick, post them up. I tried pressing hard on it, nothing. I also tried putting some heavy stuff (protected, of course) on top for the night, but when I lifted it off, the thing popped right up. Oh well, like I said, it is not a big deal, and barely noticeable.
