Rugged Ridge XHD bumper with Stinger

Anyone have this and have an opinion on it? Worth it to get? Is it just a cosmetic thing or does the stinger serve a purpose? Is it hard to install?

If you dont know what its for, then most likely you wont put it to use. Its used for protection in front end rollovers.

Not hard at all install. For most people it serves for looks only

if the stinger doesn't extend clearly over your hood I'd consider it absolutely worthless, and for "Looks" only

The full stinger is pretty easy to install but I would suggest doing at the same time as bumper install. It isn't hard to install but it gets to a pain to have to install and un-install. The only problem is that you loose the light mounts.

So you have one of these setups? Do you like it? Will it sag the front of my rubicon?

Yeah as seen in my avatar I am running the stinger with the XHD bumper. I love the look and I really want to try it sometime but its really more there to save me from doing something stupid on accident. Also, none of my friends will ever cut me off again it scares them a little. I haven't noticed any sag in the front. I don't have the tow package and its a two door with stock springs (I don't really remember what else goes into which springs are in there).

If you at your coil springs there will be a tag on them with a number on them. The last two numbers tell how stiff your springs are. (the last two digits are actually letters, ignore them. you want the last two numbers) Front will be from 13 to 19 with 13 being the weakest and the back being 54 to 60. The coils are fairly cheap with the front around $42 each and the back being $36 each direct from Chrysler. They are easy to replace if your up to it and you don't need to change anything else

Here is a thread talking about it.

Any other pictures you have of your setup?

Any other bumpers to look at in place of that particular bumper?

Also wanted to ask what do you guys do with your stock bumper? Is it hard to re-sell it?

I know this is an old thread but does this stinger bolt through the bumper into the frame rails?
