I installed my RR rear XHD bumper on Friday....
Taking the stock bumper off was very quick and easy.
Use a 16mm socket to remove 2 bolts on the left side, 2 bolts on the right and 4 bolts on the cross member. Took about 10-15 mins to get the bumper off and it practically floated away!
Installation of the XHD was very easy.
There are 2 brackets that bolt to the frame. Ya use 4 of the bolts from the old bumper to fasten them to the frame.
Once the brackets are in place, lift the bumper onto the brackets (having help to do this makes things a lot easier as the bumper is 100lbs). Line up all the holes (you'll probably have to give the bumper a little nudge here and there and it helps to have an extra set of hands to push down on the bumper if need be to line things up), place the D rings on the bumper and insert 4 bolts for each D ring.
Tighten using an 18mm socket for the D rings and 16mm socket for the bracket bolts and you're done!
The whole thing from start to finish took a little less than 1 1/2 hours.
As you see in one of the pics, there is a bit of a gap between the bumper and the body of the Jeep. It doesn't bother me at all, anything would look better than the stock monstrosity that was on there!!
I love how the bumper looks and I feel bad for anything that tries to get into a fight with it on or off road!
***stock bumper is for sale and listed in the f/s section, has the silver accent piece***
