One might have thought I was smarter:nonono::nonono: Had the top down today, 87 degrees and perfect. After driving for about 45 minutes I looked at my smiling face and noticed my forehead was bright red. Touched it sure enough I'm rather nicely sunburned. I get home and look in the mirror and besides being sunburn I have this awesome Racoon look from the sunglasses. So people, apparently the rule here is wear a hat with the top down.:facepalm:

Whats your thought on the Safari Straps to block some of the sun ?
I've thought about that. I've got em on my rig, but won't really get to try em out in potential burn conditions for a couple months, even though we've already had a couple days in the 80's here.

My GUESS is that they'd help, simply because the straps are fairly dense overhead. Like so:

Now, if you were on a straight road with no deviations for an hour in the Nevada desert...

One time last year I turned my cap around backwards on a windy day becouse the wind was trying to blow it off. This cap wasent a fitted cap so i had this real nice half circle sun burn on my forehead. It sucked when I got back to work and had to put my hardhat on.

I have a spiderweb shade sitting in the garage waiting for me to put it on....did a whole summer topless (the Jeep) & no spiderweb shade and burned my shoulders and knees continuously....

This summer it'll be different.

I've always kept sunscreen in my Jeeps. What until you drive without a shirt. You will have a big white stripe across your chest and look like a "diver in water" sign......

I work outside in Florida so going COMPLETELY topless is out of the question for me. I use a Rampage frameless on my TJ but you could just use a safari top on your JK. It would be about the same thing. Also hear great things about the spider shades. Oh yea, use some aloe to cool down that burn, you might be able to save some of that tan skin :)

Yup, same here... Got my brand new Crush JKU back in Feb and thought I was such a bada** when I drove from Las Vegas to L.A. with the entire freedom top off... Needless to say, when I got back to Vegas after the weekend, I looked like a deep fried lobster. #storiesofanewjeeper

Sunscreen is your friend! Especially when you're driving through Death Valley and the temp is 10º higher than Vegas OR L.A. haha...

I have a shaved head (keeping my pride intact) and work the midnight shift so the hat was the first thing I kept in the Jeep, but that doesn't save my neck. I drove 2 hours east and burned the left side of my face and a half diamond on my neck/chest...stupid v necks. Oh, and watch your legs when the doors are off. As you can see, I've had many "d'oh" moments

Oh boy, I think we’ve all gotten sunburned at least once, especially those of us susceptible to sunburns. Hat, sunglasses, and good sunscreen, like spf 50, are always in the Jeep during the summer. Sunburned scalp sucks!
