That's freakin' cool Jeep.

For all the advances along the way, we definitely left some cool back in the 70's.

As far as I'm concerned, the '73 Porsche RS is the pinnacle of automotive design.

How far in advance do you usually find out?

And more importantly will you tell us when you find out this year!

They'll replace the silver for sure. They've done it before. Forgot what it was called but my '01 TJ was a different silver than our '11 JK. Not much difference in the shade either.

So yea, they'll change it, but not by much. All 3 of those colors are way too popular. They'll replace them with something extremely similar.

And for the record, I love our Silver Rubicon. I've bought Silver twice now for the sole reason that it hides desert pin striping better than anything else. Our Rubi is scratched up horribly, but it's hardly noticeable.

Although I won't argue, since you obviously know more than me, I would be VERY suprised if they get rid of flame red (a bright red.) It's a classic jeep color. However, they very well may replace it with a brighter shade of red, so all will be well. Hope crush gets killed off. I want mine to be a little more rare.

Nah, they should axe silver. I'm sorry I ordered one, because now I'm a "copycat."

I was sorta planning to order a silver one in a few months. It's been my daily driver color of choice for a decade.

I like the silver but there are other finishes I like more, but unfortunately Jeep isn't offering them...like Rescue Green, or as my wife so fondly refers to it, "Puke Green." Yeah, it's a bit of a "pukey" color, but it looks awesome on a Wrangler.

Would you be surprised to know there is no real green in the current line up? What's a more classic Jeep color than green? Nothing that Jeep does with colors could surprise me.

Dune sounds like Sahara but possibly nicer...or poop colored, not sure what they'll do.

Nothing I have said is about color change, just about colors that won't be around for 2013. Obviously there will be replacements/additions...

Please post any info you get, it would be really helpful to the other members. My info came from a new source that I still am not sure what he does at Chrysler, but all the info he has given me so far has been correct. This source seems to know the info a couple of weeks ahead of my source at Chrysler and I have been usually waiting to confirm before posting.

And as well all know info for the new model year changes almost weekly.

I'm sorry for anyone else wanting and not getting a real green Jeep, but I'm sure glad I got mine!

Sorry if that's harsh.

Yup, if Jeep does away with Bright Silver and Deep Cherry Red, they will be replaced by another Silver and Red.

Silver and Red are just too popular to not have in the lineup.

When will the color choices be a little more firm ? I take it that one could place an order for a 13 during the first week of June. Would we know (in theory) by Memorial Day ? Is Chrysler good about getting paint chips out to the dealership so customers can get an idea what a funky mango mojave green could look like ?

Flame red? Really? That's such a "basic" Jeep color.

No we don't get the color chips early at all. There have been a few people who have posted you can order a 13 in June, I'm still being told July, same as last year.

I think you have some wild unconfirmed rumors that you want to share with us about 2013

Please let us know, even if it's a small chance of being true of any color rumors!

I love Rescue Green.
Green is a financial color for manufacturers. Green is the worst selling color in the automotive industry. Red on the other hand, is one of the most popular.

I didn't know that.

I'd hope the ratios would be better than average on the Jeep though. Even though I like Natural Green and Jeep Green, I'd prefer something like the Mighty FC color, or charcoal... or maybe Rescue Green, I really like the tone of that puke Rescue Green. Anything but the rainbow flavored skittles colors. Even though my wife LOVES those skittles colors and she has good taste.

Wranglers are weird. Their color schemes are not "industry normal"

Wranglers have a few "industry normal colors" (ie black, silver, white, both reds, and a dark blue" and the rest are love it or hate it in your face hit the specific buyer colors (ie Gecko, dozer, crush, cosmos)

You will never see a car like a Honda Accord be offered in crush or in gecko. Open a german car brochure, and you will see, they usually ONLY offer "industry normal colors"...5 silvers 2 whites, a black, and MAYBE a blue.

Picking color charts is a hell of a science for manufacturers. They must calculate how many people like us on this forum buy a wrangler, and how many normal people . They then do a study of the most popular colors sold, etc etc etc. This is why when you go to a dealer lot, you will see mostly silver/white/black cars (easiest to sell) and only a handful of the crazy colors.

Most companies with any form of heritage have at least ONE permanent iconic color. For BMW, the color is called Alpine white. I am actually surprised that Jeep doesn't have a permanent not going anywhere iconic color. I figured the Willys green would have been it actually, but who knows the reasoning behind their madness.

I wish I did I'm waiting for some info. I really try not to post info that I don't have confirmed. I think my one source is pretty sick of me, we spoke a couple of weeks ago and he said he was trying to get some info and would be in touch. I'll post info as soon as I get some.

You would think Chrysler would want the dealers to know at least a little info ahead of the public.

Red is a very strong pigment paint so that why it cost more the Stronger the pigment the more it cost for any color. I'm a painter at a body shop so I see how much stuff cost and that's probably the highest of them all.

That would be too logical. Anyhow, I signed up for Tread Lightly last week and will probably be pre-ordering a 2013 through your Orlando dealership. I've got to PM you at some point.

And that's why I never buy red colored items online, they are often a faded crappy red in my experience(i.e. some cell phone cases).
