Question Running wires through firewall passenger side 2013 JK

Has anyone ran wires through the firewall on the passenger side of a 2013 or newer JK? I use to run it between the different panels in the upper corner between the hood area and the cowel as the JK use to have a small gap there that was filled with foam and it is now not there... I want to run my HAM radio power via the passenger side direct to the battery.
I found the hole on the drivers side this is not what I am looking for.
Anyway I have done this on all my former JK's but they changed it for 2013 and now I am curious to see what people have found.
Thanks!

That foam filled hole is still there. I just ran lights for a 2014. Just pop off the side panel of the dash and you will see the foam filled hole.

I see what happened now I went and looked again, jeep installed a patch about 2"X1.5" on the outside of the firewall. So technically the hole is there on the inside and it has foam in it but from the engine bay side it is covered with this metal patch... I will have to drill it out I think that is still a good spot unless someone else posts up another idea.
Edit: now I need to figure out how to drill that spot given the space...

Since I am putting the radio on my passenger side I want to go out that side since the battery is right there.

Just push the wire through the foam filled hole from the cabin. You cannot see the opening if you are looking from the engine compartment.

I drilled a hole through my firewall underneath the glove box. It's pretty much straight above the fastener that holds the carpet in place, the one in the middle of the passenger side footwell.

If you'd like pics just ask, it's a pretty good spot.

Pull the insulation back from the firewall behind the battery. There is a large hole covered by tape there.

Interesting... I did not know this. Do you have a little more info as to where from both sides?

I like putting it on the passenger side of the shifter area. I found that if you put it up far enough forward you can still slide the seat forward and it doesn't get in the way for passengers. I mount it so the face is just above the flat spot for the shifting handle base but I have an auto tranny not sure if this would work for a manual and I can not speak to the seat situation on a 2 door I have only mounted them in 4 door JK's. I will try to find a pic from a previous JK.

Here is a pic of what I found works great for me.
Edit: I ran the wires under the factory carpet when done and the power up the passenger side out the foam filled hole to the battery. as soon as I can figure out a way to drill through the patch in there I will do the same thing but I don't have a drill small enough or a bit long enough to get at it.

You can see it if you know where it is. After running wires through there so many times I know where it is but mine is covered with a patch this time. Kind of strange not sure why the patch is there I didn't have it on any of my previous jeeps and it sounds like you don't have a patch either.

THis is the hole that is blocked on the other side for me. I have used it before but for whatever reason on this jeep it has a patch over the hole in the engine bay side.

Great! I didn't know there was a hole under the insulation! How do you get to it from the inside do I take the glove box out or?

Ref the foam hole from the inside... The hole comes out to the upper left of this hole out of view under the over hang... Under where the fender fold and the cowl over hang is.

If I remember correctly I removed a plastic nut that holds the inside insulation to the firewall. I reached up behind the insulation and pulled the wire thru after having pushed it thru from the outside. I don't believe the glove box needs to come out but that is very easy to do. Wife is out in the Jeep now or I would go out and take a look.

When you run the wire through this hole (below) it comes out along the side of the engine compartment and you'll run the wire into the engine compartment just in front of the battery...

^^^ ref this foam filled hole it is covered with a metal patch on my 2013 10A. I have used it many times before on other jeeps but it is not an option for me on this jeep.
