Question Safari Bikini top Questions

hey...have an 09 sahara hard top. not feeling the soft top hassle and was wondering if you know how easy/hard it is to open, close and store the safari bikini top. figure i will take the whole hard top off for summer and then just use the safari top when it rains. great to be a new member on the forum. thanks!

A trail cover might also be a good alternative or in conjunction with the bikini.

I have the full soft top and no hard top, but on my previous model I found a bikini top that used a ridge bolted to the front window that did not need to be removed when the hard top was on, and used straps on the roll bar in the back. So all I did was loosen the straps, pull the front out of the track and flip it back on itself and left it there when I put the hard top on.

Another option I have heard is good, is the Besttop Trektop.. Bestop 56804-35 - Bestop® Trektop™ in Black Diamond for 07-10 Jeep® Wrangler JK 2 Door - Quadratec A little more work on and off, but pretty much coverage of a full soft top without the hassle of the frame work.

I have the Bikini top (Bestop, 2-door)- it's a 5-minute job to throw up. As for the safari bit, maybe another 30 seconds. It would NOT be an effective rain cover, especially for the rear. If you combined it with a duster rear cover and a wraparound windjammer, you'd have much better coverage. But just the bikini top won't do jack unless you cover the sides- Mark W.

hey thanks for the good input on this. going with the bikini safari along with the bestop trail cover for overnights and rainy days. had an 03 wrangler and as much as i hate to say it the soft cover and the windows are a hassle. looking forward to easy alternative for shaky weather. if its raining hard, i will be in another car. enjoy the good weather everyone.

With my old Wrangler I when I ran with just a bikini top, I pulled all the drain plugs and the carpet.

I took my soft top completely off for the entire summer. My foul weather setup is a Safari top..the doors ON.. and a duster for the rear. Luckily I Can park it inside the garage at night and can park it under a car port..or inside the shop at work. I will get a little wet in a good rain....but I am ok with that. I will never be the guy in the mini van!!
