Sahara done?

The more I look at this years line up of Jeep Wranglers the more I get the inpression that the Sahara is going to be odd man out.Its clear that Chrysler recognizes that a large portion of X and sport owners would like rubicon tires and rims.hence the rival of the Islander and mountain edition.I just don't see where the Sahara fits among them.I am just speculating,I have not read anything that says the Sahara is done.Do any of you guys see the line-up that way? talk to later

i dont think the sahara is done, from what i can gather they are more of a luxury type model with nicer stereo systems, power windows and more options and what not. thats what i think though lol i may be wrong

If they do discontinue anything they always seem to bring things back later. Whatever sells. The Rubicons are hot as far as I can tell.

Yea if I were buying a new Wrangler, I would defiantly go for the Rubi

Same here.. they look sweet.. the Rubicon package is almost exactly everything I would do to a bare bones stock Wrangler if that package didn't even exist.. It's like they read my mind.

Around here I see more Sahara's than X's. In fact it seems the Sahara's are ahead of the Rubi's.

No. If anything I see Jeep broadening the Wrangler line up. Its the only vehicle Chrysler have that makes them any money. The rest they can't even give away with free lap dances.

thats true, the Wrangler was the only vehicle that did not drop in sales during the market crash of 08. But my point is ,if you buy a fully loaded mountain edition ,it would be priced almost identical to the Sahara. If thats the case I see people chosing the mountain edition over the Sahara,on a regular basis.Thats why I believe the Sahara 's future is in question. As far as the Rubicon is concerned ,there is no threat there .The Rubicon is the best Jeep made . Don't get me wrong, I like the Sahara, but it is not in their best interest (Chrysler) to have too many models of the same of the same vehicle.Lets face it these Wranglers are all very, very similiar(Sport,Islander,Mountain ed. and Sahara) .Just a thought.

The Sahara has been around for a long time. The Mountain and Islander are more limited productions. Not everyone wants MT's. 90% of my driving is on the road. I have no use for MT's. The 32" SRA's are great for me. I would prefer some better snow traction so that is why I'm most likely going with the GY Silent Armor when they need replacing.

the sahara isnt going anywhere anytime soon. they may be testing the waters with the mountain and islander but i would think that they would be limited time only editions like the rocky mtn and other editions that come and go through the years. the sahara has all the bells and whistles that they offer (just not the rubicon bells and whistles) only reason i have a sahara now is because i couldnt afford the rubicon... and i found it on a real good deal too.

if they wanted to expand the wrangler name they should make the J8 wrangler truck edition. NOW THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! but sadly they dont have any plans on it because the say they wont compete with the dodge brand..... stupid in my eyes because money is money is money in their world so why not cater to those that love jeeps AND trucks...
