If you didn't sign anything... WALK OUT! If this is the vehicle you want, they'll drop the price. I think you can do better. Get more for your trade which will save you additional taxes. Learn the Finance terms - important stuff here. They are getting a kickback from the bank. They can sell well under invoice price and still make money.

Find out the Finance terms first. Once you find out how much you are borrowing and find the best rate, offer this (or something close):

$23,117 - $5000 trade = $18,117 + TTL & Fees.

If they say NO, start walking out. I suspect they'll call you back in or let you leave and call you on the phone

Worse they can say is no. Remember you can try this at a different dealership too. That's about 11% off sticker. Just be nice if you have to walk out. May be able to do better.

Seen that as well, think it is 22988, you can het a vehicle transported for 500 to 700.

I'm gonna stick my 2 cents in here a sec...

6 months ago I bought my new Jeep. Looking back now, I could have saved a couple thousand dollars MINIMUM if I had been a member here and researched it, had people talk it over, etc like in this thread. I'm not strapped for cash but I'm kicking myself just for getting screwed by not knowing the ins and outs of how a dealership makes money off you.

I know you want the Jeep NOW dammit NOW, hehe, but step back and get the Jeep you want for the best deal. Trust me, I was in your shoes. Sure it'll take extra time but its well worth it IMO.

Good luck!

so now I'm dealing with three dealerships.

1. 23k OTD
2. 24k + tags
3. 22k + delivery (still haven't said anything about down payment)

Don't have a vehicle transported to another dealership... will cost you about $700 hidden in the deal somewhere...

I think you should be looking for more options, like a Hardtop, 3.73, Limited Slip, etc. But only you can make that decision. It's what you want, then beat the price down and buy it.

Exactly. I've felt the same way after buying new vehicles... told myself I wouldn't get f-cked this time. I got 11.88% off, $750 gas card, free licensing, trade value I wanted and my parents got $100 cash for referring me to the dealer (and they took me out for steak with it ) There is more room than you know... more avenue streams for the dealer than you know Take your time and do the f-cking rather than getting f-cked by them (if that makes sense )

Remember that you hold the cards because you cannot be forced to buy. Take your time, dealerships make more on quick selling. They have to make money to stay in business, but keep them honest by making them work for your business. Get the jeep you want at the best price you can get, you are going to be paying a lot of hard earned dollars for a long time.

What's the vin of the jeep you are looking at? IT should be on the Window sticker and on the dealers website. We can do an internet search and find the exact jeep you are looking at and I'm the folks here can tell you if you are getting a real deal..

I got top dollar for my clunker... high mileage, rusty rockers, everything leaked, 50% heat, burned oil, everything was functional though (did you guess it was a Jeep ). They wholesale older trades anyway, believe me there is a lot of room in there.

You said you have a Honda, it's a high resale vehicle. Try to maximize that.

The worst thing you can do is be in a rush, or purchase based on montly payments.

I had been on this site for over a year and had around 3000 posts before I finally ordered my Wrangler....and had saved up for years so I could get exactly what I wanted.

Take your time and do your research.

Price must be a misprint... how can you do that on your website Doesn't even list the actual options from the sticker. Ok, someone posted the sticker. Nice Jeep. Is that the one you want and it's local to you?
Options

Yeah, and we threw a big party when he finally did order the darn thing!!

Panthermark is right...take your time. Also, search dealer inventories online, and pay attention to what's in transit. I got lucky, found 2 identical 13 JKU Sahara's in route to a dealer near me that were basically what I wanted. Instead of ordering, I decided to accept a few extra options and get it quicker. But, I still took my time on the deal and numbers until I got what I wanted.

Nope, not local. But I wouldn't mind paying a delivery fee if I get a good deal on it.

Exactly! Even if not in inventory, units in Transit may be the perfect vehicle for you, going to your home town dealer!

Your good deal might be wiped out by the delivery fee... also they'll have to see your vehicle in person to do a trade appraisal. I'd exhaust all local options before you went out of town. Use the out of town price to help you negotiate locally. Where exactly do you live? Check the inventory for 100 miles away and I bet you'll find something similar or better...

Miami to Okl City... even to fly there and drive back would probably kill your savings. I'm sure there are tons of wranglers in Miami for you to consider.

The best advice I've seen on here yet has been to sell your car privately - as long as you can make do without a car for a week or two until you get your Jeep, you'll always get a lot more money from a private sale than from trading in.

I traded in my last car against the Jeep because I knew it had a six grand transfer case rebuild coming and I wouldn't feel right selling that problem to a private individual, but if you have no finance against your existing car always go private if possible.

Your thinking of comeing down to Miami to purchase your jeep ? i would call ahead as well as email them prior to you doing so. I'm also going to have to agree with everyone trading in isn't the best bet. sell the car privately on cragslist. it'll take time but you should be able to get a better amount for it.

Also i'll tell you right now because im near the miami area. to me appears ALL of these jeep dealers in SoFla don't want to negoiate and keep firm on pricing. some say they can only take $500 off the stickerprice. and thats really not a deal....

I was at a dealer this past weekend in miami trying to get a deal on a true blue sahara their sticker price was $34,7xx. i was trying to get an OUT THE DOOR price, they didn't budge one bit. so once again do take your time, remember it's getting closer and closer til the 2014s are released.

Yikes, if they're not willing to deal in Miami you go to the next city and deal there. I see why the OP is wanting to go out of town now.

use autotrader.com as well, I think the jeep.com inventory is official prices and official discounts, while autotrader shows dealer set price and dealer discounts. Check it twice a day, always new inventory appearing:

Yeah, in Miami nobody is bugging. I just got an email from the first dealership I was trying to deal with saying "Hi Amie, just following up about the Jeep you wanted. We can take off a few hundreds, but not thousands."

-.-
