Salvaging a GPS holder

I bought this to hold the new GPS I received for Christmas. It held the unit but not like I wanted it to. So I bought a different mount and pitched this one in a drawer.

I don't have a cell phone and haven't had since I retired----but my wife does. There really isn't a good place to just lay a phone down in the jeep so I dug out the holder and found a 2" wide strip of aluminum and some velcro. AT&T finally switched our phones over from Alltell and the new phone is a heavy little thing. Four inches of 2" velcro on the dash and the holder seems like it is going to hold it in place. The mount is handy for both driver and passenger and it's easy to remove also. Momma's happy so I'm happy.

I use a cell phone holder that attaches to the rollbar above the door with velcro.

That looks good only I wouldn't be able to "roll" my Windows down. Paint it to match and your in bidness.

that aluminum piece looks just like something i've been brainstorming lately! I wanted to mount my ipod where I could wrap my hand around it, like it's meant to be used. Figured a metal shelving piece would do the trick.

And velcro is clutch!
