Say Hi to the New guy!!!

Gents! What's up. This forum has been awesome for the entire 5 days I've known about it. Lol. Anyway I just bought a new '14 Unlimited Sport last Saturday and I'm stoked about getting mods.

My first mod goes down Friday as I'm having a 3 inch lift installed as well as Toyo 35s. My problem though is I scared to death now because I keep getting the "I hope you don't void your warranty" crap from people and the net. I read a super long thread on here about it but I'm still nervous.

Can someone ease my fears? Please?? Lol

Welcome and congratulations. I guess the lift and warrantee depend on your dealership.

As soon as you modify the vehicle with non-OEM parts, you will void that portion of your warranty. Just be sure to do it right the first time and you shouldn't have problems down the road.

Welcome to the forum.

My only advice as someone mentioned earlier - Take your time, do your research, know what you are looking for before you make the mod, so you don't end up redoing the mods.

Hi Newguy!

When it comes to warranty, and mods. If you get the Mod via mopar and have it dealerinstalled you should be okay.
As far as other mods and what not. Most reputable places will warranty their equipment and repair/pay for repairs of damaged caused by the mod should you have a problem.

But keep in mind,
When doing some mods, they can by the nature of what you're doing reduce the service life of componants. The driveshaft angles will change with a lift as will suspension geometry. Chrystler cannot warranty non-chryslter/mopar parts.

So mod with caution. Warranty voides from mods will only void the part of the warranty that the mod affects.

Example:
I installed a locking gascap on my Jeep. If I ever get a CEL for the gas cap, it cannot be warrantied by chrysler. However, If I get a CEL for a misfire from a defective cylinder head, that can be warrantied by chrysler.

Chrysler warrants what comes on your Jeep. Period. (Speaking about factory warranty- not extended). Installing suspension does not "void" your entire warranty- but don't expect your dealer to go out of his way to fix suspension related parts down the road. And why would he? The issue becomes the gray areas- and if you've been reading up you know all about that. Like mentioned above: a 3" lift may wreck your driveshaft prematurely- Jeep may or may not replace it under warranty. With any vehicle you should know that once you start modifying you are taking a risk with your warranty. But leaving it stock...what fun would that be?

A suit and a lifted Jeep? Needs dirt - a lot of dirt. And a few scratches. Jeep tires should not be shiney! Now get out and play! Looks nice-enjoy and welcome!

Looks great! I was just curious what kind of lift that is and if you had to pull or trim the front air dam? Maybe it's deceptive because of the larger rims, but it looks like you may have clearance issues if you start to flex out on trails. Do you plan to off road it?

I really like rims.. very nice!
