Question school me on the recovery strap choices

I grew up in the era of tow chains; recognize their disadvantages, yet still have a few....unused these past couple decades since getting rid of my last jeep....

where's a good summary read on nylon & which makes a better choice?

yeah i just orderd mine from quadratec last week, i bought the 20' 3inch wide recovery strap, from what i've heard you will get more use out of the shorter straps than you would the long ones. as for the width. the wider the stronger, but the wider and stronger the strap the more of a jar or jolt it will be for the vehicle being recoverd, smaller straps have more spring and a softer pull

Snatch straps do well for getting a vehicle out of mud.
