Schrockworks

I ordered a bumper from these guys 4 months ago, and I'm still waiting. The turnaround time for this "custom bumper" was 90 days. last week it was going to be powder coated, and they haven't returned an e mail I sent yesterday. They know I need it by this weekend, I'm leaving for the 4 Corners Navajo Nation area and then cross country to Maine. Has anyone had any issues with them?

they suck on shipping. 6 to 8 months is their normal lead time. I've dealt with them for years. they don't build to orders or keep any stock they batch build. also they do very little of the metal cutting in house so they wait until they have enough orders to fill before they get anything cut. Look them up the Nissan guys have been dealing with this for the better part of 6+ years. Once you get it its a great product but not worth their shipping time.

Thanks Irongrave, I should have asked about them before I ordered.

I have Shrockworks all around. I have a few issues with their stuff, but overall pretty happy with their products. They're notorious for longgggg lead times though, and they don't tell you this up front, which is bad to start off with, but then every time you call for a time quote, it's completely bogus/false/worthless. Don't believe anything they tell you in regards to a delivery date, unless you like being disappointed and frustrated. They have often been very bad at responding to emails, but I've always been able to talk to someone right away on the phone.

Even when they finally ship it, you may not even get a shipping notification. Just one day out of the blue you'll find a huge box at your front door. I waited 6 months for my front bumper from them, and 8 months for the rear bumper tire carrier. Rock rails took 3 weeks because they had them in stock and only needed to send them off for powdercoating. With each delivery, there was something missing or wrong with the hardware (nuts/bolts/washers/etc), and had to make a run to the hardware store to make it up. And with my rear bumper tire carrier, I had a bunch of fitment issues. It takes tons of patience to deal with them. More patience than most people have. Also the fact that they charge your credit card up front, in full, months before shipping the product, is quite annoying. Some have questioned whether or not that's even legal.

I've been hearing from them (I'm on their email list) that they've got some new machinery in which is supposed to help with their lead times, but I have not yet heard from any customers that their lead times have improved.

I was going to pull the trigger on BOTH front and rear bumpers from them. However, they said they would not ship USPS to me in Japan. I have an FPO AP address... I guess I am glad they said no now. I really like the rear flood light accommodation which is rare.

Needless to say I am still in search of bumpers...

Happy with my LoD rear bumper and tire carrier, but my leadtime was long also, long to me anyway. Was quoted 3-4 weeks, took almost 8 weeks. And it was made to order, and they did not charge my cc until 2 weeks after I received the bumper. I only have 1 complaint, you cannot adjust the lights after the bumper is mounted. I also got tracking numbers emailed to me the day it shipped.

We received our JK Stubby bumper today. Lead time was supposed to be about 12-14 weeks, turned out to be about 16. Looks like they are improving, judging by other posts. The bumper and accessories were very well packed and cushioned. I didn't do a detailed inventory, but it looks like the sack of parts matches the shipping list. This bumper is just drop-dead gorgeous! Our Jeep left this morning on vacation tho, so we'll have to get back with you in a couple weeks about the installation.

Glad to hear this. I will never order anything from them knowing what I know now. 16 weeks? That's ridiculous. Even if the bumper is nice.

Congrats and enjoy. 16 weeks is definitely an improvement, but still a long time to wait. They really are nice bumpers though. The front one is really quick and easy to install. It's been a while, but I think I installed mine in about four hours including installing the winch. I did it almost all by myself. I only needed someone to help hold up the skid plate until I got the first couple of bolts in.

Unfortunately I have to agree. I was told 4-6 weeks for my rock sliders... 3 months later they finally got here! That being said I was impressed with the quality and workmanship and glad there on my jeep.

Anyone have any current experiences w/ them?

Also, thoughts on their rock sliders mounted w/ the stock rails? They offer that option. Wondering if there is any benefit to having both aside from aesthetics.

Thanks!

There is no benefit having both on. Shrockworks slider are well made slider. You only have to do that with cheap sliders.

Thanks! Now the question is if I can wait the 3 months (give or take a month or two) for delivery.

I received my rear number from Shrockworks last summer - I ordered early spring. It was delivered 6 weeks after their longest original estimate. That being said - the bumper is everything I could ask for....

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I ordered a mid width from them in September and got it 1 month later!

Amen brother, I ordered mine over 4 weeks ago and have tried to e-mail them twice to see whats up. No response so far. I love the idea of their product but man it sucks having to wait. I don't understand why no e-mail either.

I have also heard that Schrockworks is the worst in the business if you are in a hurry. Even if you are not in a hurry 6 to 8 months is unacceptable.

I don't know how they stay in business honestly. Back when I had a Nissan I contemplated them because there were so few options. But with Wranglers are so many companies making good parts that are honest about lead times I don't know why anyone would support Shrockworks.

I had a Nissan also (2005 Frontier) and you can't deny the the quality or strength of their products.
I wish they made skid plates for the JK. I would gladly wait 2 for their skid plates. All the existing companies that make skid plates for JK are way over price.

I called for their estimated wait on some JK sliders and was told 8-10 weeks...and from what I've read this is likely on the low end. Also asked if they'd only bill me just prior to delivery and this was not an option. It doesn't seem right to bill so far in advance of delivery...

Yes, I have a recent experience with them. I purchased the rock sliders and I chose the option to use my Rubicon Rails at the same time as the sliders as that's the look I was going for. I like having the Rubicon Rails on there. They do provide some additional protection from the front tires throwing road debris.

I love the product. I would do it all over again. I ordered my Rubicon and my Shrockworks Rock Sliders on the same day. It took Chrysler about 5 weeks to deliver my Rubicon and it took Shrockworks twice that long. I called at about 7 weeks and was told it would take 10 weeks from the date of purchase. I was nice about it and asked them to make a note on my account that I called and was told 10 weeks. I called at 9 weeks to ask for an update. I was told it would take 12-14 weeks from the date of purchase. I said NO, that's not right. I called before and was told 10 weeks, check the notes on my account. I was put on hold for a few minutes and the guy said they would get my order out to me in a week. My order arrived about 10 days later.

I read many reviews about Shrockworks so I knew what to expect. Basically, what it boils down to... They make an excellent product. If you are willing to wait, it'll be worth it after it arrives.

There are vendors out there that deliver the same quality as Shrockworks but are honest about their lead times.

I bought my sliders from White Knuckle Fab and they are similar to Shrockworks but they arrived on my doorstep in 3-4 weeks, exactly the amount of time I was quoted. Cheaper than Shrockworks too. So with competition that is honest and cheaper, why would anyone deal with Shrockworks? I'm not just saying this to give WKF props, there are many, many other companies that make JK sliders and bumpers that don't consistently mislead their customers. You shouldn't have to research online and find out they lie every time you call and just expect it from them.

I will say I have never bought anything from Shrockworks, but everything I've learned about them on the internet seems to be 100% true.
