Seat belt indicator and chime

Anyone know how to de-activate the seatbelt chime for 2012 Wrangler Sport? Simpler the better(other than wearing it) please?

Thanks

You have a chime? I have never heard one with mine. I just see a light, but I never drive it around on the streets with out putting on a belt just in and out of my garage to do some mod's, so it might start at a certain speed or something?

Oh yes very annoying, I'm "big boned" and wearing it can be annoying sometimes, especially on short trips

The seatbelt is your friend. But, if you choose to help reduce the human burden on this planet, don't let me stop you.

Are they in good shape?

I shot a liver transplant a few years ago and got to see the old and new versions side-by-side. Didn't even look like the same organs.

It's a switch. Connector under the seat, if you disconnect it and jumper the 2 pins with a metal safety pin, no chime, no dash light - the system thinks you are always buckled. I wear a seatbelt, just not when I back out of my long, curved, driveway.

Yeah just use the method linked in the previous post, I ride everywhere with my dog and quickly got tired of her setting off the seat belt chime when she rides in the front, seat belt light still comes on but no noise which is all I wanted.

I did a post that has a bunch of the stuff you might want to program (like the seat belt chime). As far as I know you cannot get rid of the warning light.

LINK->http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/man...le-155357.html

From that post (I added the unlock all key fob because I like that one too)

Remove Seat Belt Reminder Chime -Enhanced Seat Belt Use Reminder System (BeltAlert_) –Removed from current manual – Says to go to dealer, but still works (mines a 2012).
NOTE: The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the
ON/RUN or START position. Chrysler Group LLC does
not recommend deactivating BeltAlert.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and
buckle the driver’s seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position (do
not start the engine), and wait for the Seat Belt Reminder Light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle
and then re-buckle the driver’s seat belt at least three
times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt fastened.

Remote Key Unlock All On First Press -22 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
1. Press and hold the LOCK button on a programmed
RKE transmitter.
2. Continue to hold the RKE transmitter LOCK button
for at least four seconds, but not longer than 10 seconds,
then press and hold the RKE transmitter UNLOCK
button.
3. Release both buttons at the same time.
4. Test this feature while outside of the vehicle by
pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter.
NOTE:Pressing the RKE transmitter LOCK button
while you are inside of the vehicle will activate the
Vehicle Security Alarm. Opening a door with the Vehicle
Security Alarm activated will cause the alarm to sound.
Press the RKE transmitter UNLOCK button to deactivate
the Vehicle Security Alarm.
5. If the desired programming was not achieved or to
reactivate this feature, repeat the above steps.
NOTE:Pressing the LOCK button on the RKE transmitter
while you are inside the vehicle will activate the
Vehicle Security Alarm. Opening a door with the Vehicle
Security Alarm activated will cause the alarm to sound.
Press the UNLOCK button to deactivate the Vehicle
Security Alarm

U can get rid of the light if u take apart the dash and remove the led bulb from the instrument cluster.

Above instructions work fine for shutting off seatbelt chime. After last step turn ignition to off before starting. I shut mine off because I spend a lot of time at the river and lake where I'm doing no more than a couple mph, and it got really annoying. I always wear on the road though.
