Seat Comfort for Tall Guy: Sport vs. Sahara, Cloth vs. Leather

Wondering if there's any difference in the comfort/support of the seats in these three 2013 JKUs?

Sport S: Cloth
Sahara: Cloth
Sahara: Leather

I'm 6' 5" 220lbs and trying to decide which to go for.

Is there any difference between the cloth seats in the Sport S and Sahara besides the embroidery? Is the only difference between the cloth and leather on the Sahara the seat cover itself?

Also, is there generally enough lumbar support on each? If not, I'm thinking of adding after-market lumbar support which would mean seat covers. In that case I'd stay away from leather.

Thanks for any input!

I'm 6'4 220 and I don't mind the seats at all. They aren't too bad but I have a 2012 and haven't sat in a 2013s seats.

6'2" 235. The 2013 seats are somewhat redesigned for lower lumbar and they have more padding and set up a little bit higher. It makes it just a little bit harder to get into it, because of the additional height. I find them very comfortable. We have the cloth seats.
My wife is only 5'2" and uses a small portable step to get into it. FYI!
Ours is a Rubicon, but I believe that the seats should be the same in the different models.

6'4", 220 lbs. Sahara with cloth seats. I find them pretty comfortable around town and have no complaints but I can see where I might want more lumbar support if I were going on a long trip (I do have back problems). Will probably look into seat covers in a year or so when funds allow.

What year is yours, because they did change the seat design in2013.

I'm 6'5" 285 lbs. and have a 2013 JKU Sport S. The seats feel just great to me. Lots better then the 2011 Jeep Patriot I just traded.

My bad. It's a 2013. From what I'm hearing it has better support than earlier models.

I'm tall and have a 2013 Sahara with leather. The seat height adjuster on the driver side is useful to get comfortable, not sure if that is standard on other lines though. Whatever seats you get your left knee may hit the lock/unlock button occasionally since you're tall

The one thing on my Jeep that I would change if I could.

6'7", 220 lbs, 2013 JKU Sport with cloth. Love my seats.

seats 2012/2013

Hi, the seats in the 2011 & 2012 are the same, for 2013 & 2014 are the same. the seat adjust on the drivers side is the same for all jk's I think
my 07 also had the seat adjust. my 01 TJ did not have the side adjust, and
prior to my 2001 I just can't remember..

5'7", 160lbs. Never found such a thing as an uncomfortable car.

I realise that this brings absolutely nothing of use to the discussion, but it's so very, very rare that being a dwarf is something to boast about. Please forgive my opportunism.

Well I'm 5'6" 95lbs. At least that is what I tell everybody. I think this is wishful thinking!
I real life I'm 6'5" 275, but I am 79 years old and do have some aches and pains.
The seat in my 2012 was just O.K. for my size, but the seat in my 2013 just seems larger overall and more comfortable in the Lumbar area. Mine were both cloth.
I suggest that you go and test drive a 2012 and 2013 so that you can feel the difference for yourself!

6'1" @ 223lbs 2013 JKUR cloth seats, no really problems, could use a little more lumbar support, back starts hurting around 900 mile in one day.

I do like the feel of the cloth over the leather, when I test drove them

See, when you are young, then you can get 900 miles a day before pain, I can only get about 500 before severe pain sets in, well that's youth for Ya!
